If there was only one game, the chances for injury would be very low. Every added game increases risk, so playing in a game that means nothing must have enough benefit to offset that risk. Also, Jets fans are paranoid about this game because they've had 2 QBs injured injured in a preseason game against the Giants.

It's not "better". It's not necessary. Week 1 counts, preseason doesn't.

2 things: 1. Jets QBs have a history of injury in Giants preseason games (Superstition) 2. Any extra play-time increases his risk for injury over the season in general. You just have to decide if benefits of playing outweigh the 2nd one in reality.

Rodgers suffering a season ending injury in preseason or in the first few regular season games would effectively result in the same season for the Jets. So it doesn't really matter. He's never played a game with these teammates before. It makes some sense for him to give it a go in a game that doesn't count. Tom Brady got injured in the first quarter of the first game of the 2008 season. Would it have made any difference if that happened in the pre-season? Sometimes these things just happen and the guy has to survive 17 games anyway.

Well people have non contact injuries all the time, so probably shouldn't let him do any conditioning. People constantly get hurt in practice so that's out. Planes crash so instead of flying he has to ride in a well padded car only to be driven by someone Eisen approved along law enforcement shut down highways. He can't shower, too many people slip and fall there so that Eisen approved driver probably needs noseplugs after a few weeks. Actually....no. From now on, we keep Rogers in a locked room covered in goose down, and only let him out when Eisen shows up on game day and opens the lock just before kickoff. Saleh will be permitted to shout his game plan through the wall throughout the week, but not so loudly it may hurt Rogers ears.🤣🤣🤣
