Egos are the most destructive aspect of team work. I was a Marine infantry commander and i saw similar things. There were NCO's and officers that had egos and were ineffective. As hard as it is to replace people, it's necessary to continue the effectiveness of the team. I found that junior Marines could step up to be effective. Ramsey is doing the same except he is much more tolerant than I was.

I'm just a retired US Marine infantry officer with 21 years of service and 3 years in combat. I love to grill and smoke meats and I love to cook. I don't serve meats or vegetables until they are cooked perfectly. Smoking is an art form. You don't smoke on time you smoke on temperature. It's basically the same for all meats. Vegetables and breads are different. When sautéing scallops, for example, you look for color and temperature. I didn't see any of the HK cooks testing for temperature. When you are a Michelin Chef, you can cook to how it looks and feels. But as any other cook, you should be cooking to temperature. In my opinion the red and blue teams are cooking based on time or nothing when they should be cooking based on temperature.
