It's GONE: We SOLD our Boat | Sailing Soulianis - Ep. 111

Once we decided it was time, it happened SO FAST. One day we were in Michigan writing the ‘for sale’ ad for our Tartan 37, and a few weeks later we were in Florida getting the rest of our belongings off a boat - that was no longer ours.
We knew this day would come, but when it’s finally time to say goodbye, it’s hard. Memories come rushing back together like a tsunami. All the time and effort, heart and soul we poured into this boat over the last four years… It’s a lot.
But worry not, this is only the close of the FIRST chapter.
On to the next!

I couldn't wait until she could hop in the car and buckle herself up and when she could use the bathroom by herself... I think their downfall was using the quarter berth as storage and trying to live in the V-berth. I think the answer is ~40ft aft cabin and use V-berth as storage.

I wanna see a Amel Sharki. . But they’re all in Europe . It’s a 38 footer . I’ve never heard of any performance talk about it . Or blue water performance. All I’ve seen is some are nice and well kept , and some are worn and ruff when someone is looking to buy one. You should get a old 57 swan from the early 80s a swoop . The jobs will never end .

I miss you both….one misadventure of getting sea sick should make you experienced. I hope you find a nice Catamaran….and see about getting funding from commercial sponsors as you advertise for them. You are a smart investor. Buying land…holding that acreage for later….properties start generate liquidity. I think a love aboard will be nice ….and you should home school…IT’s easy. Maybe 7th grade you can find a Christian Scool.

Congratulations! Love all the videos and have been subscribed for a while now. In the selling process, especially to a remote buyer, how did you protect yourself from being scammed? I've heard so many stories, and even know somebody personally, where the buyer used fraudulent funds, seller verifies with their bank, "buyer" took possession of the vehicle and title, just to then hear a couple of weeks later from their bank that the funds were not real.

I sold my 37ft sailboat for the same reason: too small with my then infant daughter. I also felt like it wasn't that much of a happy day, very bittersweet. Now we got a 35ft catamaran (Seawind 1000 XL2), perfect for us right now. It'll be too small again in a couple years, but for now it's great!

hi folks, we are probably double your age, a happy old couple from Belgium. We have moved to Italy about 12 years ago.. following your channel for some years now and looking at this episode, we feel like being in the exact same emotional area. You guy’s have sold the boat,…we have sold ours 3 wks ago at lake Como) We have also sold our Italian property.. and consequently saying goodbye to ‘a’ life and step by step, preparing for new one. Ours is moving back to Belgium, moving back home to the place we both grew up… and to a brand new property. Very conflicting emotions of happiness and sadness .. happiness because going back home to your roots, your childhood playground, your family, dearest friends…sadness because of leaving behind a beautifull life in one of the most beautiful p;aces in Europe..Wishing you guy’s lots of fun and joyin your future life that we will continue to follow also with joy from our sofa in a rainy, cold, misty but….our Belgium…😘
