Mourinho's full speech to dele alli " Have a sit. Okay first of all I think you know that I like you. You can feel it. I like you as a player and I like you as a kid you're a nice kid. I don't want to be your father you have one I don't want to be your uncle or your older brother I just want to be your manager but with a close relationship. Therefore I have to be honest with you. Maybe deep inside you tell me to F off but I have to be honest There's a big difference between a world class player and an average player that can have world class moments. . So you have to do the analysis not me. I saw you during 2 seasons at spurs do incredible things. And ask yourself Why did your career went from MK dons then tottenham then national team up up up and you reach the top then collapse . Why do you have ups and downs? I don't know if you use to be a top pro and now you're out partying with girls I don't know. Only you can know that You have to demand more from you not me demanding more from you. Not your teemates . Only you. I'm 56 now and yesterday YESTERDAY I was 20. You know what I mean? . So time flies mate. Time flies and i think in 2 years from now you will regret how you handled your career if you don't seize the opportunity I don't want you to be MOTM every game I want you to be harder on yourself and reach your actual level. Thank you my friend. See you later " Jose mourinho 2019. This isn't a football conversation. This was a life lesson

His downfall is not only because of his attitude. I believe it is down to multiple factors: oversaturation of games, media hype and high expectations. It really can hurt player career and let's be honest, English media DO love to overhype English players a lot.

FFS!! What is it with you ignorant AF 🤡 who think it's only the English media who love to overhype. Every transfer window we hear about the next Tunisian Messi who nevers turns out. The amount of foreign flops in EPL is insane considering the hype they was recieving in whatever league they came from. English clubs don't spend silly money on players like Antony and Nicolas Pepe without their being hype in league they are playing in. Just as the Dutch media talk up their league, why shouldn't the English do it either? Honestly it's weird as hell. It isn't the English medias fault you consume it more than any other nations media.

i was thinking the same footballers are no different than ordinary people they can get mental illnesses too, thing is in football they tend to try to cover it up there must be dozens of players in the premier league with mental problems and medications.mental illness tends to manifest itself in your 20s so those young footballers who are talented suddenly just decline

He's frozen in my memory, winning at Stamford Bridge in 2018. Determination and superb ball control, winning the ball and working the play to set up Eriksen stunner from the corner, then getting on the end of that long ball from Dier, bringing it down, one touch and flicking it past the Chelsea keeper on the half volley 😮...Never dreamt at that moment, he'd fall off a cliff to where he landed in Turkey today. Im a Besiktas fan. The coach has a character that always says what he thinks. You can have your own opinion on that but it not just happend with Dele Alli but also with Nkoudou for example. He had big hopes of Dele when he came. Also, Besiktas tried to terminate his contract in the winter transfer window but Everton didnt agree because they also didnt need him. So things arent as simple as you think sometimes. I had really big hopes when he arrived. Hopefully he can recover next season

He has a specific skillset like donny van de beek, thomas muller, davy klaasen, fellaini, kevin nolan, soucek etc the manager has find a very specific role for him even at the best of times. Cause he’s not a good dribbler, he doesnt take a man on like a winger, passing range is very limited, no defensive awareness, no legs to go box to box. Once players like those i mentioned were left out, it’s hard for them to get back in and produce.

Ben White sees football as a job. Just putting it out there.. sometimes you just gotta be professional. It's a life thing. I get that not every person is gonna have that Passion as obviously as someone like Zinchenko, I get that. Or I get not everybody is going to have that almost Obsessive Drive to be the very best like Messi & Ronaldo & maintain that level. That's a top 1% kind of man thing. But still have a good mindset & appreciate. Hopefully, he's getting the right kind of help if that's what he requires. I don't know, but maybe therapy, mentors or a life coach, but it's more than just a football thing. I truly believe it's deeper with Dele, I strongly believe it's a Personal Life thing. Really want him to open up about it in his senior years

I honestly think football teams should invest more in 2 aspects of a football player: 1) their education, specially financially, as footballers often don't even finish high school, and get taken advantage off by their family, goldiggers, or agents. 2) their mental health, as most footballers often come from poorer backgrounds and face quite a lot of adversity and eventually lose themselves: Gardel, Adriano, Alli

I remmember that clique of young english players; Rashford, Lingard, Dele, etc we all used to watch their IG stories and interviews. I truly expected him to become a top 10 player, England starter, possible league winner. He has a classic case of burnout IMO. He probably wants to be doing something else with his life, we have to realize that a lot of these players chose football as a career when they were like 13 years old. I think Neymar has a similar predicament but he can coast on his talent and reputation. With a sport like football if you don't love it with all your heart, it will show in your fitness, in your effort etc. Not all players are meant to have a 20-year long careers at the top, some will retire early and move to a league like the MLS. I just hope he is doing well behind the scenes, because it can be rough going from a genuine A-list celebrity to being booed and banished from the Turkish league and failing at Everton.

Curtis Woodhouse (Sheff Utd, Birmingham etc) is a similar story. He came from nothing to make it as a pro at Sheff Utd where he got his England U21 caps. He had a shortish career in the game (not helped by being a party animal) before publicly saying he'd "fallen out of love with the game". The difference with Alli is that Woodhouse seems to be more a natural competitor and went on to a career in pro boxing where he became British light welterweight champion. He's now managing non-league football. His autobiography is well worth a read.

Any chance of a video about Joaquin Sanchez ? He’s 41 still playing in La liga and in Europe maybe add in his “guassa” how funny he is and how under rated he is he’s a proper legend funniest man in football no one comes close

The answer believe it or not was 1965 Liverpool 2-1 Leeds United that’s Liverpool’s first ever FA Cup trophy in their history and their first final involved Burnley winning 1-0 vs Liverpool

I'm gonna say this in the nicest way possible, but I have no sympathy for Dele or the situation he is in considering this is all his fault. He just dosen't care. Attitude issues can only be changed once you notice them yourself. Literally every Manager who has gone through him about this and it never changes. I think we all remember that video with Mourinho where it's fairly noticeable that he gives no shit about what Mourhino had to say. He quite literally dug his own grave and jumped in it as soon as he was finished. If there was, at any point, a moment where he should've begun changing his attitude was after the Mourhino talk. Well, he didn't, and this is where he is now.

I have absolutely zero sympathy for this guy. I was not sure before but now I am convinced that this is down to his attitude. I was never a fan of his but he has previously demonstrated his ability to compete at this level. He has taken his foot off the gas. Plain and simple. He's pissing away whatever talent he has and it's nobody's fault but his own.

There have been many players in the past with a natural talent to play this game we love, who have been the next best player to walk onto a pitch. Then the fame of being a celebrity becomes too much and they can’t or don’t know how to deal with it, remember Gascoigne blowing up in the cup final!

Even though I don’t Iike him one bit, the coach of Besiktas is a Turkish football legend, as a premier goalkeeper he won 6 league titles with a club that nobody knew, as a coach he led Turkey to 3rd place finishes in 2002 World Cup and 2003 confederations cup, and secured back to back championships with Besiktas etc.. Btw, Turkish league is physical, less reliant on tactics, and highly emotional. Not a nice place for a comeback story

i was been there on an job which i don't like which i purely did for money but when you have enough money in your bank you would lose the motivation, but glad i was out of that now i'm at a place where i would love the job having fun now it came clear for me money may buy you happiness but more important is self satisfaction, may be ali thinks he's done with football and wants to move on but sometimes if you can't use your talent to your full potential it's on you nobody else, if you think you're going down make a habit of things which can cheer you up and keep up the motivation i always do that, you're so right about messi and ronaldo they know their potential and they grabbed to it and kept up with their motivation and that's why we called them as one of the great's who ever thinks i'm done no one is done in this world you just need a little push you may be get this from a friend or by urself just don't let down yourself Love you all

I think football fans find it hard to realise that most players are probably just playing football as a job. The reason why you go to your 9-5 that you might not love doing is the samereason why most footballers play football i.e. to provide for their families. They are often from nothing and football allows them to pull their family out of poverty. Then they are stuck in a job that they are grateful for but don't really like anymore but still have to do it because they are the sole (and large) breadwinner. These players need more Psychological support in my opinion.

As an Everton fan, I have an inside track on why they haven’t cancelled the loan. It’s kind of explained with the intense talks with dele alli before he joined. From what I understand, the loan is set with a big cancellation fee as Everton wanted him to go for the full season as they planned to recruit new players in central midfield. With Gueye, Garner, and Onana coming in, Everton wanted Allis wages covered for the full season. As a result part of the cancellation fee is to cover his wages for the rest of the season, meaning if anything Beskitas would pay more to send him back than just freeze him out. The talks at the start were probably based on figuring out if he was worth the gamble as they’d be stuck with him otherwise. I think Senol might be trying the last thing he can think of to get Alli back to form. He might look at it and say we’ve got him anyway so I’ll try everything I can, and maybe this is his last roll of the dice.

Dele is a real case of how the mighty have fallen. Had talent and potential in ambundance. But I feel that not having the work ethic and poor attitude has held Dele back, and also been instrumental in his downfall. Quite sad at 26, where most footballers should be reaching the peak of their careers.
