Tom Cruise was definitely not a superstar before “Risky Business”. This movie kind of launched him. He was 21 (playing a high school senior) when this movie came out in 1983. The song had already been a hit in 1978, and then again when this movie came out 5 years later.

The picture of Bob sitting on the corvette is from the music video for "Like A Rock". That's a great song. A bit slower than many of his, similar to Turn the Page. Really highlights the rasp as he sings about days gone by. You may recognize as Chevy used it in pickup commercials for about 15 years.

This song has an iconic back story. The demo was recorded at the iconic Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Alabama. The demo was sent to Bob when he was in Europe. The band ran through it and they all really didnt like it. He tried it live and the audience went nuts. So much so they did the song again. It was clear they were going to have to cut it themselves. Some songs just find the right artist. Thanks to his great relationship with MSSS it ended up in his lap and has been a staple of his cannon ever since.

This one is great, it's an iconic classic. To me, his best song, however, is Night Moves. For people of my generation, I would think, it's very, very nostalgic. The song hits hard in its memories of times past. At least for me. Back to current day, thanks for another great reaction to another great song! The people who made Risky Business knew what they were doing when they coupled a young Tom Cruise with Bob Seger!

You can't go wrong with a Bob Seger song, he just doesn't have a bad song. 👍 Those raspy expressive vocals and wonderful storytelling will have you engaged from the start. But hey...I'm a Seger fan so whatta ya expect~ lol Here's another song by Bob Seger, if interested. "Bob Seger - Beautiful Loser Studio version)" (channel: Bob Seger) --This song was written and recorded by Bob Seger and is from his eighth studio album. The single just missed being included on the US Billboard Top 100. And I'd also like to suggest another song by an artist I believe you've reacted to before and seemed to enjoy his tunes. So If interested check out " Joe Bonamassa - The Heart That Never Waits (Live) - Tales Of Time" this is a live performance at the Red Rock Ampitheatre. This is blues at its finest with one of the G.O.A.T guitarist's... this is pure ear candy, guys (👂🍬)

The song was recorded at the Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Sheffield, Alabama, and Sound Suite Studios in Detroit, Michigan. The guitar solo was contributed by Howie McDonald. Originally, the Silver Bullet Band was displeased with the song's inclusion on Stranger in Town, claiming, according to Seger, that the song was not "Silver Bullety". However, upon hearing audience reactions to it during their tour in Europe, the band grew to like the song. In 1990, Seger joined Billy Joel on one occasion and Don Henley on another to play the song during their concerts in Auburn Hills, Michigan

In the 70's, a lot of us felt that way when disco was becoming popular. The kind of acts I saw in concerts made sure to put down disco at some point in their shows (Bob Seger, Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent etc). People nowadays look back at the70's and think wow about all the different genre's coming together. But true hard rock fans usually did not care for disco. But times change...not for me...but they do change. 😉

A roots rocker with a classic raspy, powerful voice, Seger wrote and recorded songs that dealt with love, women, and blue-collar themes, and is one of the best-known examples of a heartland rock artist. He has recorded many hits, including "Night Moves", "Turn the Page", "Mainstreet", "Still the Same", "Hollywood Nights", "Against the Wind", "You'll Accomp'ny Me", "Shame on the Moon", "Roll Me Away", "Like a Rock", and "Shakedown", the last of which was written for the 1987 film Beverly Hills Cop II and topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He also co-wrote the Eagles' number-one hit "Heartache Tonight", and his recording of "Old Time Rock and Roll" was named one of the Songs of the Century in 2001. With a career spanning six decades, Seger has sold more than 75 million records worldwide, making him one of the world's best-selling artists of all time. Seger was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2012. Seger was named Billboard's 2015 Legend of Live honoree at the 12th annual Billboard Touring Conference & Awards, held November 18-19 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York. His farewell tour took place in 2018 and 2019.

I first saw Bob Seger at Richard's, a rock & roll club in Atlanta where he played for a week. It was late on a weekday and there were about 25 people in the audience. The next time I saw him was a few years later at Grant Field in front of about 45,000 screaming fans. The difference was the release of his Night Moves album. Now you have to watch Tom Cruise dance to this song in Risky Business.

Bob Segar has no bad songs? Well, lets see........ what artist do you know that has had 31 Billboard Hot 100 hits? I was there during his farewell tour (Virginia Beach,VA) and I did not know he had so many hits. That man rocked our faces off! What was really cool is he talked, almost, about every one of them. He also paid homage to the rock icons of the past with pictures of them on the entire stage backdrop. The most talented, the most real, the most humble, the most amazing artist I have ever had the privelege of seeing. I am so thankful I got to see him, albeit late in his career (But he still had all the goods and gave it his all.... and then some). Just a phenomenal artist! Great reaction, TY.
