What a blast 24 hours on a Goldwing, there is no shame just comfort
and enjoyment, don't listen to them who have not been converted

About 2 years ago I had a Goldwing for a day down in Exeter. Fell in love straight away. Even for a 5'9 shortarse like me it was easy and so so nimble at slow speed. However I live in the Black Mountains in Wales with snotty little lanes and even when I get to Motorways and A roads, these days they're like Nepalise mountain tracks after they've been bombed. Therefore unless I move to France or California I'll have to stick to my GS.

Hi Paul. Interesting vid on the Golf Wing. Talking of economy , I ride my NC from Halifax to camp in North Wales, then do the Horseshoe Pass, arrive back in the garage just before the fuel light comes on, doing about 74mpg with all the camping gear on. If I do a straight run from Halifax to Scarborough (where it’s a bit flatter) with no camping gear it’s touching 80mpg. I’m not hanging around either, I’m running the manual gearbox.

Hi Paul, just been into Youles yesterday and bought my first DCT.. it was a choice between the mighty NC and the mighty Rebel 1100..but because I'm coming off a vstrom and fancied a complete change i opted for the Rebel..i took one for a test ride and absolutely fell in love with the bike and the dct, can't wait to collect it..and whilst i was there i got a quote on a Goldwing £4000 down and £316 a month😂😂 maybe one day..it was Brad who i dealt with.

Yeah, you would love the Rebel 1100 dct not as practical as the NC but an absolute blast to ride..@@birchwoodbiker

@@birchwoodbiker I understand that, I feel the same way about my 2002 VFR V-tech.! A few years back I owned a NC700X which I enjoyed….but not as much as my VFR!

As I have said previously, if I could only have one bike it would be my NC750X. My second bike would be my ZZR1441 My third bike is a classic (I own an old Kawasaki) A Gold-Wing in my garage would be relegated to 4th position. My issues are it is not overly good for filtering on British A-roads. It isn't overly good at dealing with nadgery little lanes in the Scottish Highlands, and it is a heavy old beast around town. I reckon these bikes are ideal if you live in the US of A, or you wish to ride to Palermo in Sicily. Don't get me wrong, having owned a GL1800 they are truly incredible machines, but they have a very limited appeal for the riding I do...Hence I sold mine.

The goldwing really is a touring bike for highway miles. I wouldnt want it for our narrow small country lanes. I did wonder something, do u sometimes travel with your NC? I dont think u have ever made a travelling video (multi day) or do u just keep it at day trips?

Goldwing was an interesting bike when they appeared in '70s. Concept could have been improved so much with improved handling, performance & handling sticking with 1000cc flat four layout. 1800cc six seems so American & a waste. Supercharged 750cc would have been interesting.

@@birchwoodbiker sorry, I was watching your vid while I was getting ready this morning. So when I know I am bouncing in and out of where the phone is, I just that blank statement. Still interacting with YT! As far as the sand and morning pics, I live 60 feet from the sand dune as I am sure you know. Walk that beach almost every morning.
