It's Lamborghini Time?! My Huracan EVO RWD Test Drive

The Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD as the new suggests, is the rear wheel drive variant of the updated/facelift version of the V10 supercar. With the familiar 5.2 liter naturally aspirated 10-cylinder making 610hp and 560Nm, power is slightly reduced from the 4-wheel drive sibling and with a number of changes when compared to the EVO to be a purist model. Most intriguingly, it's also fundamentally the model on which the brand new Huracan STO is based - a car of great personal interest to myself.
The EVO RWD features all of the updated infotainment with Lamborghini's HMI but instead of the 4 wheel steering and torque vectoring, it makes use of clever settings with the traction control to offer superb stability for a lairy RWD beast with over 600 horsepower. Notably to me, there's a marked improvement to the feeling of the Lamborghini Dynamic Steering without the front wheels being linked to the powertrain and it has to be said, the EVO RWD makes for a brilliant country lane machine, despite the horrendous weather that falls my way.
During my visit to Lamborghini Pangbourne, where the team very kindly arranged the possibility to drive this stunning Huracan EVO RWD in Blu Symi with the Bronze 20" Narvi wheels, there are other discussions to be had about whether or not we're going to see a Huracan STO joining my garage of the Shmeemobiles before long!

Being from the US, I’m always amazed by how narrow the roads are there. I’m used to seeing a shoulder and then drainage ditches along the side. They look incredibly fun to drive. Also, what’s the deal with roads that appear to be only one lane in some videos? Are they?

As much as i want to love it you simply cant push on without the niggling doubt that the car will kick itself out and propel you backwards in a fiery spin throough a hedgrow and into a field. Having owned a few performance cars there is real value in having a decent four wheel drive system to get performance down and maintain traction. I really dont see the joy in driving a car that is actively going to try and kill you if you arent 100% switched on. Showing my age no doubt. Watch supercar epic fails and you can see how quickly and easily these beasts will destroy themselves if not respected and often not even at break neck speeds.

I really enjoyed this, the Lamborghini Huracan Evo RWD is a stunning car both in looks and in sound, it seemed to hold the road well in the wet for a rear-wheel-drive car, for the most part, I think I would be a little bit nervous though having that much power in a rear-wheel-drive car, but I suppose like anything, you become accustomed to it, I also loved the Diablo in the showroom, you were totally right when you said that the colour did suit the car, I hope that you decide to get a Huracan RWD for your garage, time will tell.
