just an 'old lady' observation from years of making lefse - when slicing your bacon, might be beneficial to just take out the one you are working on, leave the rest in the fridge/freezer. That prevents them from getting too warm to slice nicely - as I am eating a late lunch of my farmer friend's 'real' bacon :)

If you're going to start holding welding classes, consider putting up an old video monitor in your workshop (or creating a stand where you can easily put/ remove said monitor). Use the GoPro to film the in-close welding shots, and send the output directly to the monitor so those not wearing the helmet can see _something_ as you explain to the welders.

I required my son learn welding in our homeschool program; it helped that my husband could weld anything including stainless steel. Who knew then that it would be an important skill in the career he chose and thrives in today? My kids learned everything we could teach them, and we swapped with other homeschool families to share skills by teaching classes (biology, chemistry, sewing, gardening) like you are doing with the Rhodes. My daughter went on to earn a Masters degree in her field, and my son skipped college to pursue a more exciting but grueling career that he loves. My daughter didn't learn welding, not because she's a girl, but because she was dangerous in her lack of proficiency in some things, but she excelled in others where we encouraged her gifts. As a lover of learning, I believe you should teach them at every opportunity. I love watching them all grow.
