This was a great item to review mate. At 600g it is easily a sharer and at £3.50 it’s a great price for a lamb product. Sometimes the mint overpowers the flavour of the lamb. It was nicely filled with meat and the pastry looked great. I would definitely buy this. Some baby potatoes, some broccoli and cauliflower and away you go.

The real thing looked better than the pack picture. The fact it rose up and had air inside after cooking wasnt due to it starting that way, it swelled up to twice the original size and the pastry looked nice and flaky unlike the picture. Just a pity its lamb and not a steak&kidney instead.

Hi Gareth, Good review. Thanks for the video. I am a NZer and you could be talking about Lance Cairns or Richard Hadlee? But, it won't surprise you to know that beef and lamb are two of our biggest export foods (you buy it, we'll sell it to you, Lol). We would never eat lamb wrapped in pastry here, though.

Weird how this bigger item feeds only two but the smaller thing with the sausages and yorkshire supposedly fed four. Aldi certainly have some weird ideas on serving sizes 😀

@@saxon-mt5by Yep 1 serving is 454kcal if I recall from the video, and so add some mashed potato, veg and gravy and you have a 800-900kcal meal for £2 or less. Not bad value, very filling and reasonably healthy.

That looks (and sounds) really nice! Lamb is my favourite meat by a broad mile... But your point Gareth, about "why can't we have British Lamb?" sent me to Google... Apparently, we export nearly all of it. And then we import back from other sources slightly less than what went out.... Now, I'm an older man, and I probably drink too much, so anyone who knows better please feel free to correct me, but surely the Carbon Footprint/Global Warming Brigade should be screaming about this from the rooftops, shouldn't they? Surely there would be NO footprint if the meat just fed those in the country of origin? It's all just moved around to make someone some money... Why aren't our "social warriors" bleating about this, instead of blocking the roads so Nan can't get to the Hospital because of her plumbing trouble? Nice pasty, BTW. :).

Looks nice that. Mini Rant : If we can all try to cut our palm oil shopping bit by bit, it will help the serious issues of animal and plant extinction. The oil itself isn't bad, it is the way it is grown. Deforestation and death of too many animals and extinction in cases or putting animals close to extinction. It's hard to avoid it, but if you can, please try to avoid it.
