Real questions are 1.) is the frame solid & straight, 2.) is the drive train in good enough condition that it won't need to be rebuilt or replaced in less than 10K miles? Aaaauuggghhhhhh!!! Can’t wait to see what the deficiencies are!! Hahaha Now that I have seen the video, it’s not as bad as I thought. I was very worried about the Mazda (Ford) when Andre bought it,,,,,,,, and I’m generally a Ford guy! The Jeep, no surprises. I did the heater core in one though. You take the dash out to get there!! In the dealership my buddy was quoted over $2,000 CAD to replace the core, by the time we were done, we both wished he had spent the money!! Haha. What a PIA! That Blazer will fail you somewhere,,,,,,,. They looked decent and drove quite well. A few guys had ZR2 blazers like Nathan wanted and they were capable, but fragile. This is a good series though. Routine maintenance and getting the issues fixed when they generally should be is why that Jeep is pretty decent. The clean transmission oil is a give away kinda. Did that to sell it and do so right after changing it so it doesn’t smell burnt. They cleared the codes on the transmission and then they returned from Tommy driving it home. They will be back, I’m sure! Haha. It’s not the worst though,,,,, even the TFL team had learned when they got the black Dodge!!! I think Nathan and Andre were a bit too blinded when they found a running example of what they wanted, especially Andre,,,, haha. Tommy was pretty analytical and got his purchase. It pays to not be too emotional when you go to look at a vehicle,,,,, I know from experience!! Andre, Nathan,,,,, I can definitely sympathize!! I have been blinded up front by getting what I wanted and not looking close enough. Fortunately I restore the older vehicles I buy but it always means much more work!! Haha. Great series TFL!! Now if you would release each of the already edited videos one per day the rest of this week,,,,,,,,,,,???

@codylapoint3 жыл бұрын
Me too, the problem is that there is no gasket on the housing itself. The gasket is on the thermostat with an indexing tab on it. If you look really close that tab favors one side of the thermostat ( the side away from the motor. It lines up with a little notch in the plastic neck piece, and if you have the gasket on backwards even with the notch clocked properly it will still leak a few drips every now and then. It took me a lot of swearing over several weeks to notice that the tab wasn't in the exact center of the gasket and it could in fact be put on backwards. Why they even put that stupid tab on there makes no sense to me it doesn't help it seal it does a better job causing it not to.

The ball on the hood is the vacuum source for the dash vents. Unplug it and they won't switch over just blow out the bottom or the top only

Just wondering, did all 3 trucks get repaired before you hit the trails.? Or did you just do this for an example and then ignored fixing, to see if it would make it.

Know what would be really cool? If Toby fixed up these cars and y’all either auctioned them off and gave proceeds to charity or donated the cars themselves.

You know I think Toby should have his own little side show on TFL or maybe his own channel on KZbin. I for one wouldn't mind watching him work on stuff, I like the way he talks about cars and his mechanical mindset

Ford has a bulletin on those V6 heads and you cannot rebuild or just surface them. They need replacement.

that 'Clamp' on the blazer, next to the control arm is factory, it's for the optional steering stabilizer. and the rear 'wheel bearing' is not a wheel bearing, it's axle end play, normal for a 7.5/7.625 rear diff, C-clips leave slop in the rear ends, same thing that happens in old CJ's

You have done a series on full size trucks and now mid size SUVs. Let's see mid size trucks.! Love the cheap segment. Very entertaining.

As someone who lives in Ohio.... seeing how these clean vehicles can be referred to as rusty, is insane. Honestly. Our vehicles look like that if you test drive them in the winter 🤣

I bought from a friend 1 year and 3 months ago a 1995 Toyota Tacoma 4x4, V6, manual 5 speed, power everything and even cruise control, tires are 31 1050 R15 brand new. Two-door and has been parked in a garage it's whole life and for the two biggies, and only had 86000 original miles and I paid $3,500. So now I park it in my garage and as of today she has 91,000 miles. I have never seen a 95 Toyota Tacoma this clean she is definitely a beauty!

I had a speech problem just like Toby and had to go to speech therapy for a few years in school but it solved it. I wonder if he ever tried anything like that. Not knocking him at all but people are cruel and everytime I talked I felt like nobody took me seriously. Made life more difficult especially talking to girls. He probably don't care though but just curious

That will be true for most vehicles. At some point, the cost of wrenching totals out the vehicle, so it's not worth fixing, or even servicing, anymore.

Toby, I seem to like him. He's got a very light hearted personalty. He's got some quirks and mannerisms that makes him pretty unique. I think he'd make a good addition to the show as a regular.
