Just a friendly note for you guys: WOLED Monitors from Asus cannot display shadow detail in HDR movies or tv series. They turn dark scenes so dark you cant see anything. Remember the Long night in game of thrones? Infamous for being dark? Yeah these monitors are unable to reproduce any detail in that episode when HDR is enabled because the EOTF gamma tracking is WAAAAAAAAAY off in near black.

@@jrlivingspaces You cant adjust gamma in HDR (you cant adjust anything on this monitor when HDR is enabled besides the hdr brightness toggle (90 (for peak brightness 750) or 100 for peak brightness 1150) also turning up gamma adjusts the whole range, washing out the bright colors instead.

I believe they have worked to minimize this "issue", with updates. And there are many guides that make it clearer. It's really a question of preference. You cannot really go any better than these monitors in 2024. But again, it's all about your own preferences, and less about this being an actual issue. LG C4 has a green tint when it's a white screen but most people don't even notice it's there, until they read 700 comments about it and then think it's an actual huge issue when it isn't.

The question should be: would you be satisfied with getting maybe 4-5 years out of it with daily OS use? Because OLED burn is still a big risk when you use it with static elements (such as windows). I've had a hard time getting excited about 240Hz OLED as all of them still lack a proper motion solution such as a ULMB equivalent. Even ASUS, which does offer a crude black frame insertion function forbids it in HDR. Last proper solution was OLED Motion Pro rolling scan mechanism, which died with the LG C1 after 2021. Don't know if 2025 will be any better. Also QD-OLED removes the polarizer layer compromising the blacks, which kind of was the whole point of OLED for some of us. (And the LG monitors have that matte thing going on...)

Can you cover the high pitched noise this monitor makes when turned off to put pressure on Asus to fix it? (Asus PG32UCDM)

Never had that issue.
@Henry-if9puАй бұрын
@ I’m on my third unit that has it. I googled this issue. It is common with this monitor. I googled it. There are Reddit posts about it. But also posts on asus forums. I guess some people do not have the ability to hear it or the noise floor is higher? Or just leave their monitor on stand by? Thanks for the reply though.

@cuzr702Ай бұрын
I haven’t seen Msi advertising any 27” or 25” inch modes. I think Msi also uses an internal fan unlike asus. I’m not sure the extra brightness on the asus wouldn’t be noticeable to justify the price. I like playing some games in 27” inch though and an internal fan could be an issue.

After having multiple ASUS PG series monitors have power issues only a couple of years down the line (just outside of warranty), I'll never buy one of them ever again. Also not to mention how the PG35VQ was a £1.8k monitor and overheated often with its cheap $30 Sunon fans, the only way to get that under wraps was by modding it with adequate cooling. Spec wise the PG32UCDM looks cool, but I just cannot trust ASUS's reliability anymore. Pulled the trigger on a G8 Neo & 341CQPX instead.

its an oled care feature which you can turn off. But don't let the display on for too long and run something heavy like a stresstest, that can create a burn in.

Hey guys I need some help, I've been using a 48" LG C1 since it came out. I've been thinking about buying this monitor, how big of an upgrade would this be? apart from refresh and response time. Any input?
@CosmicCrow-m6gАй бұрын
It would mainly be an upgrade in terms of PPI and size (if you prefer a smaller display). You should also consider the 42" C4 if you want something smaller but with better PQ overall. In terms of PQ your current monitor will look better in HDR, but peak brightness (in small windows) and color saturation would be slightly better on the Asus. You also have 120 hz BFI on the C1 so motion should still look good, but not quite as good as the Asus. SDR brightness and color accuracy should be a big improvement on the Asus as well.

How much Asus payed to you to like like this? Everyone knows that the difference between the panels in the Alienware, MSI, Asus, Samsung and gigabyte are minimal... DP 2.1 requires a minimum of three years to mature and establish itself as the standard. By the time you fully capitalize on its benefits, your monitor will likely be regarded as outdated. Ultimately, those who invest their resources judiciously will emerge as the true beneficiaries. Hold that L.

The biggest problem with this monitor is that it's ASUS. I think the AW is the most underrated and my personal choice. Small attention to detail makes it my choice. No annoying power brick, cable management panel, DV, USB-C for charging my small devices and perhaps the biggest for me is the creator mode (for editing) which is the most color accurate you can get without an expensive calibration tool. OLEDs have punchy saturated colors because they are appealing but these colors are exaggerations of what is intended. I trust DELL's customer service a lot more as well than I would ASUS. Lastly, the curve is not noticeable when you are using the monitor and is there to warp reflections since QD-OLED has a big problem with this. The curve also keeps more of the screen in your focus area. Bonus: It's one of the best looking Oled monitors (especially mounted on an arm) and my 2nd overall next to the LG 32gs95ue.
