Yeah so we can see purple screens in bright rooms and shitty triangular subpixel layout with fringing on the text that makes ur eyes hurt. No thanks. Woled improves on both of these issues, but fringing still remains with RWGB, and instead of purple now the blacks look gray. Not to mention, u still have to hide taskbar, hide address bar in firefox or use F11 in chrome etc. Its so inconvenient plus u gotta afk for 10 mins every 3 hrs for pixel refresh, thats a 1/18 or 6% loss of time. Finally, theres no oled that supports bfi at its maximum refresh rate. Zowie's Dyac 2 and Asus' ULMB 2 will always look better than OLED without bfi. Yes the bfi of ips/tn adds a bit of image duplication, true, but it looks much cleaner. Oled in motion looks like someone applied fxaa on the whole screen twice. It's just really blurry, compare the PG27AQDP's 480 hz oled vs the Zowie XL2586X 540hz tn with bfi (dyac 2) on rtings and the difference in motion clarity is night and day. The oleds are just blurry as fuck, they're terrible for any game with motion. Oh, in case ure not using bfi and would rather use vrr, well have fun with ur oled flicking like an ambulance siren.

I feel like the Alienware Aw3225QF doesn't get the love it deserves. The most overlooked aspect of it is the Dolby Vision function. I play physical media 4k UHD Disks on this monitor an it takes advantage of Dolby Vision. I know I'm in the minority but it looks incredible. A game changer for sure.

A great deal of the reason I have just ordered the ASUS PG32UCDM is for the glossy, high contrast, colour accurate image but also for the Dolby Vision for playing my blurays and Apple TV 4K. Dolby Vision is an inclusion that I really wanted, I understand that HDR10 does a great job but the dynamic per pixel brightness and contrast control that Dolby Vision offers, is simply better and I want the best possible image quality that I can afford. The top model Mac monitor is probably the best but that costs like $14,000 AUD, I'm not affording that without winning the lottery.

@dnzlwshnktn2092 Definitely more niche these days but im referring to 4k Blu Ray discs. You would connect a 4k blu ray player up to this monitor as you would a TV. You might ask yourself "why would anyone want to do this." The reason is many of these movies look incredible on the 4k dolby vision format. It puts streaming on Netflix, or Amazon prime to shame. Not trying to convince you, but this is where Dolby vision on a QD-Oled display truly shines. They look shockingly good on a Dolby vision monitor. You'd have to see it to belive it. Better than streaming or watching at the movie theater. Im a movie collector and an enthusiasts. Most people could care less about the visual fidelity of their movies like my wife and that's fine. Lol For me, I want the highest quality picture and a Dolby vision QD-Oled Display is there best there is.

Check out the Asus PG32UQX or the Viewsonic version which is very similar, almost the same. Very expensive though compared to the G7 but is clearly a much higher quality. Monitors Unboxed reviewed both the Asus and Samsung and said the Samsung was better.....how did he come to that conclusion (makes me question his reviews now, how could you not mention the awful black crush? on the G7 and local dimming weirdness, low brightness HDR, etc...)? Maybe he received an early sample, they have a newer revision i've heard which looks amazing! The Asus/Viewsonic is clearly the better of the two, appears nothing has beaten it since for an LCD. The local dimming is damn near perfect, OOTB accuracy and the brightness insane! It just doesn't have the fastest panel but seems fine for most. Check out Solace In Scrutiny video comparison of the Samsung G7/8 vs Asus UQX, it's clear the Asus is better by alot! I got a Dell 32" G3223Q LCD for about 550€, which was reviewed as good but pricey a few months prior at about 1000€. I'm very happy with it and much prefer it over OLED: 1. The difference in black depth isn't very noticeable to me 2. The peak brightness fluctuations on OLEDs annoyed me a lot (the brightness of bright objects decreases the more bright area there is on screen.) 3. No need for annoying screensaver/pixel cleaning modes. 4. Proper text rendering. The only real downside is that the low latency mode leaves visible artifacts, so the total latency is a bit higher. It's no big deal outside of twitch shooters tho.

Eventually I'd like a "flicker" display like I think NVidia Photon would be to address persistance. I recommend an RTX4070 or better paired with an R7-5700X3D or similar for gaming at 4K.) i just picked up the Samsung G80SD 4k 240hz - current deal - 15% off Black Friday, 5% off using the Shop app and £100 off for a trade in on my old monitor (12 year old benq 24inch) took it down to the same price as the Alienware - £799. Not been disappointed just like I haven't been with my Alienware DWF 34inch.

Nice. I've have had mine since launch and it blows every every monitor I've had away. Love it. HDR looks spectacular on such a high def / pixel dense panel and colours really pop. The matte screen for me is basically perfect with basically no reflections or grain and still retains sharpness. The remote and Tizen are just the icing on the cake. It does benefit from a bit of tweaking and calibration as out of the box settings are a bit oversaturated, but otherwise this'll be my endgame until it dies or unless 4K 32" Micro-LED's become a thing and affordable just like OLED's are these days.

Great video, thanks for all the work. It'd be great if you could test both 27" and 32" variants of mini LCD IPS KTC monitors (or at least one of those). I've heard a lot of good about those products (and a lot of hype in the same time, sometimes with paid reviews) but I trust your judgment and thorough testing the most.

I'd be really interested in some gaming experience comparisons between the HDR experience of these top 4k monitors and the 42" and 48" OLED TV offerings, specifically for desktop pc gaming. Does it matter that we can get higher refresh rates on 4k monitors when the pc hardware is nowhere near 240 fps at 4k support when the OLED TV's are targeting 144hz in some cases with rumored higher on new models in the works? I currently have a 35" ultrawide 1440p at 100hz on an IPS panel, I want to upgrade, but I feel like I'm missing something about the closing gap between TVs and monitors for pc gaming, what do I lose or gain going one way or the other.

I purchased the Dell a while back when you reviewed it on another "Best Monitor" content. It was about $1300+ at the time, and went down drastically, shortly after purchase. Lol! Luck of the draw I guess. I'm more than happy with it. I got the 32" mainly because I'm kinda losing my eyesight. Age! I may be mistaken, but I was thinking that a 32" would be easier to read/watch than one at 27". I haven't found anything on that aspect yet, though!
