Hate to see you go my guy. The NBA space on KZbin is VERY confusing and finding my own niche on here has been interesting on its own. Hate you couldn’t find that niche and lord knows the NBA space isn’t forever because everyone wants to be in it. Best of luck on your next chapter, hopefully you keep the love of the game now without all of the stress of KZbin itself.

I just finished watching your video. Sat and listened attentively. Your feelings are valid and I support your decision bro, I’ve been watching/subbed for a good 3-4 years I wanna say. You were always super chill in your videos and never seemed biased, plus you were actually entertaining/funny to watch. Compared to the other basketball “analysts” on KZbin, you’re the one that should’ve seen the growth. That being said, your decision to join the army was surprising lol. My friend went into his basic training about 2 years ago now, he’s currently stationed/living in Alaska - what makes me the happiest about his time in the army is that he’s still the same person that left, bro just jumps out of planes now lmao. Please know, I’ve always appreciated your content man and if this is gonna make you happy - I support you fully. I look forward to seeing what you do next bro 🤝🏽

Anytime you turn your hobby into a career you risk hating the thing you once loved. Someone who likes working on cars will be coming full-time mechanic and little by little they start hating working on cars, but they stick with it because they invested years into learning their craft. That’s life!

Ngl, when YTers put out videos like these I tend to overlook these. But your vid in particular stood out because you was one of my favorite YTers in the basketball space and hearing you can't even enjoy watching basketball when you have to make a video immediately after sucks man. Wishing you the best in the Army, and hope you can *really* enjoy life and make an impact.

Don’t blame you, everything is “has to be analytical” stance now and if you don’t you’re a “casual”. NFL discourse and fighting discourse is 10x better than NBA discourse. And I don’t hate Jokic but the Jokic MVP advanced stats era argument has led to this style of discourse. I click off videos now whenever they start diving into too deep of advanced stats that they probably sat there hours trying to formulate an opinion on.

You did a good job. And I imagine the fun was taken out of it when things do get monetized, because, getting paid requires your passion to become work. Work requires you to make content to get paid. You can't please everyone and please don't doubt your decisions. The channel did change, but you were trying to do what you thought would make it better. The point about passion just shows how much heart you have. You have to do what is right for you. I still watch most of your videos, but you have to do what is best for you and this has taken some of your love of the game away. I remember watching centers battle it out. Robinson vs Ewing Duncan vs Shaq Olajuwon vs anyone really. Kareem vs Mosses All those stats didn't matter. Just being amazed at what these top level athletes could perform at.

Been watching ur channel for a couple of years, and my favorite part is easily when u and gobells debate and argue about NBA players and teams. U and gobells know a lot about ball, and when u guys have different opinions it always makes for an excellent conversation. The hoop concessions podcast was great. If u do return to KZbin, maybe try making videos with gobells where u two debate about NBA topics. Also, maybe don't blame urself cause ur channel didn't grow how u wanted it to, there r many external factors beyond ur control that influence ur channels growth. Good luck in the military

A lot of the other content creators help each other out by doing co podcasts these days. Like you see four Basketball youtubers all hook into an online chat and talk ball. I think that's how they grow so fast because their audience is an amalgamation of all four guy's subs. You are right, your channel is way better that a lot of the big channels. I didn't even notice the sub count was that low until you said.

At first of all, greetings from Germany🇩🇪.I just listened to the video and it‘s making me kind of sad that you think it‘s a failure. If you only consider it numberswise in terms of reaching the 100k then yeah it‘s a failure. No, no, no you didn't fail. You don't know if that total is correct and I doubt it is. I have seen this with channels in other fields and it's always between 80-90K subs. Can't be a coincidence. I don't know how the pay system works, but if your views and subs are being manipulated with. Please don't think of yourself as a failure. Maybe you hit the mark, maybe you didn't but how many other accomplishments can you look at and see you made a difference. Maybe some who passed you up had a lot more resources to work with or did something they didn't want to. To get there. You stayed true to yourself. You have charisma, I wish you all the best in your future and be safe during basic training. That part was the shocker for me. I hope you get some grant money to pursue something.

I think what happened is two things : First: the schedule of youtube uploading is just too much. Like you have to upload to be relevant it doesnt matter what number of subs u got. U just have to upload which takes the passion out of it. Second: like you said when passion is gone. You want those returns at least which in many cases also goes away making for a very viscous cycle. Thus i completely understand your position bro 🙏

Wouldn’t take the numbers too much to heart, imo there is more likely to be a negative relationship between knowledgeable analysis and subscriber count. Look at Legler and Timpf versus … well I’m not going to name them but you know who they are. Kinda have to find the balance between stuff you enjoy and what viewers would enjoy so as to avoid burnout or stagnation. Not sure what you enjoy but I always enjoyed your trolling work, the smelly Knicks and so forth. Sure it can work, Skap Attack seems to be making a career off it albeit that he is only at 40k (pretty new channel tho). Sometimes it can take a while, I remember Dreamers Pro was tiny for ages but now they are at almost 200k just regurgitating and giving their takes on the news cycle and ranting about Kobe and LeBron (I don’t like the latter much but it seems some do). Point is though that that prolly isn’t too difficult for them to do, so it’s also about being able to keep it up. As far as you are concerned I also liked the format of you and the three other guys just chatting although the videos were too long and iirc not timestamped, that is pretty important bc people are time poor and don’t want to sit through topics that bore them
