Love the build. Recently I’ve been using sheet metal from an oven and 100+ sheet metal screws to rebuild my dad‘s bronco floor it’s his plow truck and winter is coming soon so I had to fix the floor and cab mount. I used a piece of a 2 x 4 wood to strengthen a cab mount that was gone

🤣 I had a piece of 4x4 strapped to the frame of my pickup for a while as it waited for me to replace a cab mount, he floor still has a wrinkle in it there that I couldn’t beat out of it 🤷‍♂️

No, BOM would not approve, there was no CAD (Cardboard Aided Design), no bends, and no captive nuts. They especially wouldn't approve of you getting nearer finishing a project. I think that is against their religion.

A good way to transfer threaded hole centres nice and precise is to run a starter/taper tap through them until the point dimples the target material. Saves getting paint all over your nice, new rust.

In order to get your camera to focus you have to had "you fuck" to be get the camera to focus. "Focus you fuck!" Has always worked for AvE.

I don't know if you know how to lock the doors on the inside of your C10 cab, if you don't just push that door handles down and thats the lock position, but I'm sure you already know this.

I think you should have lengthened the cab & doors, tip the windshield a bit more so roof did not have get to drum like. and the cowl too keeping the fenders and wheel wells . extra 5 " ~7 " would be so ice

Rich, change the framrate of your camera please! You have it set to the European setting, so you're seeing the light flickers from the shop lights. Edit: actut it's that damn milwaukee light, must be pulse width modulated for brightness. That's incredibly annoying. Now I know not to buy one.

You don’t see the flickering when you’re working. But for whatever reason it’s the only Milwaukee light that does that on camera.

It would only show up on video or in pictures. And probably only on settings other than full bright. The pulse width modulation for dimming is really common and not really noticeable to the naked eye.

So I'm not sure how it all works, but instead of a complicated steering linkage, complicated fab work and a steering gearbox I'm kind of thinking a all hydraulic steering would be the way to go, mount a orbital valve to the firewall, and a hydraulic ram to the axle and all youd need is hydraulic hoses. One of the things I want to look into for my project

@Mister Bojangles that's a fair enough explanation. They actually sell hydraulic steering systems, not sure if they are for road use or not. Makes me wonder if all vehicles have a mechanical connection from steering wheel to tire.

to my untrained eye, it looks like the cab mounts are really cab washers. meaning they are NOT separating the cab and frame, they are only a washer for the bolt. Which as far as I understand it not how a cab mount is supposed to work. It was dark but it looked like the cab nut casing was directly sitting on the bracket and the bolt had the mount on it running up into the nut. It appeared that the mount should have been placed between the nut casing and the frame mount, but never got put in the correct spot.
