I'm a trained chef. Do all those things, but first, before doing anything, pat the turkey's skin & inner cavity dry so it'll grab the softened butter better. Then, roast it breast side down. The dark meat will render its fat into the white meat. Leave a knob of seasoned butter inside the cavity with your aromatics. I inject mine with salted butter & sauvignon blanc, but even if you don't do that you'll have an incredibly juicy turkey as long as it's roasted breast side down.

Happy Thanksgiving James! We ourselves are flawed. Sometimes lamentations come before thanksgiving. Make a joyful noise all the earth, even indigenous peoples, but sometimes you first lament. Psalm 100 Make a joyful noise all the earth - a command Psalm 101 I will sing and I will sing and praise God - a commitment Psalm 102 Praise doesn't follow, rather an honest (by title) "a prayer of the afflicted when he is faint and pours out his complaint to God " -a lament. Lamentations may come before the songs in this place in Psalms. Psalm 103, 104 , 105, 106 Oh bless the Lord, Oh my soul! -Long preachings to self. Count the blessings of God and a lifting from lamentations. A preaching to self on reasons a person should still pros and thank God. Oh bless the Lord, Oh my soul! and rebounds the reasons ending with God is faithful but we are not. Four long super epic songs where the writer preaches to himself on the things God has done and does thank and his affections are stored to praise God. The last two? 105 106. God is faithful in 105 we are not in 106. The world needs a savior. And... Ps 102 becomes an argument in the book of Hebrews that Jesus is greater than the angels. Another reason to thank God.

James forgot the most important part...always, always, always cook the turkey upside down. Yes, upside down. It helps so the juices go to the bottom - the top of the turkey and where the meat is. It is never dry when you do this.
