It’s the festival of cars: A preview of the 2024 LA Auto Show

I’ve been consistently going to the LA Auto Show for two decades. Sadly, the last real show was in 2019. The decline in the TSS (trade show system) has affected all auto shows including: NY, Detroit, Geneva etc. Most automakers now host their own press events due to it being cheaper and easier to spread the message.

This show is dying quickly. A lot of brands aren’t attending. Porsche left last year. I’d be surprised if this show is still around in 4 years.

You're going to miss the Tesla show where 30 cars are programmed to open and close doors at the same time to Daft Punk music while people stand around awkwardly.

Agreed! I went last year & it was still fun but very disappointing compared to previous years & even Lexus is absent this year for the for the first time ever which is the main reason I'm not going this year. Its for sure been going downhill since the pandemic.

Festival of bully mobiles. I see a festive atmosphere on the 5, 101, 134 all the time... in the form of reckless driving that places the public safety at serious dangerous risk. Now I'm going to go ogle at the very cars that are built and marketed to these jerks on the road? I don't think so.
