Someone had caught onto that . The police went to her house to do a drug raid and yhr police identified themselves. Breonna's boyfriend put her in the hallway between him and thr cops. Her boyfriend had a gun and either fired at the police or drew his weapon at the police either way causing them to fire their service weapons. And because Breonna was put between him and the cops she was shot by the police. Personally the situation probably could've went another way and Breonna still be alive and the police wait to shoot or her boyfriend could've surrendered without any harm. Super long but I get the message, being black is a privilege...but it’s also a curse from the day you come from the womb. And to be living as a black male at the age of 13 and seeing this...knowing that I may not be able to get married, get my degree, or even make it to high school....says a lot about the way I gotta live. Are you kidding me? Justice would be him having his life. He's dead now, what justice is there to be had in death? Justice would be racism not existing. Justice would be actual equality and equity. Justice would be black people not being persecuted at every stage in life till death. That's justice. Until those things happen, keep your "justice". It's hollow. It's disgusting.

Our teacher once said, "If you're wrong you're wrong. If you're right you're right. Don't let anything change that, not your race, not your religion, not your clothing. Being a Human is first and I can confirm that every person of every race is a Human being."

I will never forget the day that I saw this movie in theaters. I was just 17 years old. After having seen the trailer, I knew I was going to get emotional during the movie so I decided to go on a weekday where I knew the theater wouldn’t be so crowded. Just before the movie was about to start, a black woman in her mid 50’s I would say entered the theater and sat down about 4 seats away from me in the very back. We were the only two people watching that showing. I was embarrassed because I knew I was going to cry and didn’t want this woman to see me like that. So the entire time I was hunched over in my seat, trying to hide my tears and stifle my sobs. She was crying too, but not as hard as me. She kept offering me tissues and I took them with a nod and smile. By the end of the movie, I was an absolute wreck but was doing everything I could to hold it together as I still had to walk past her. She stood up and I could feel her staring at me as I was getting my purse. When I turned, she was standing there looking at me with this kindness in her eyes and I couldn’t hold it in anymore. She quickly took me into her arms and I SOBBED. Like the kind of sobs that leave you gasping for air and your whole body shaking. This woman who was a complete stranger to me showed me kindness by rubbing my back and telling me it would be alright; that the world would change someday. I kept saying “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.” At that moment I thought I was just apologizing for completely breaking down in her arms. But after reflecting on it later I realized that I was apologizing for everything my race (white) had put her race through. For the obvious reasons, but also for the less obvious ones; for the countless white people not truly listening to Black stories and experiences. For not caring about their many many pleas for change. For not being kind. For not treating them equally. It was like something had taken over me. When I was able to control my breathing a bit more, I picked my head up and told her “please know that you’re not alone in this fight. There are so many people supporting you.” I couldn’t say anymore because I had started to sob once more. I felt her body start to shake a bit as well and for the longest time, we just both stood there and held each other. A white woman and a black woman hugging it out. In that moment I wished that this could be the way to fully solve all problems; by just crying and hugging. Before we walked back to our cars, she told me that her name was Carol, and that it had been such an honor to meet me. I told her that my name was Grace, and that I felt the same way. After one last hug, we went our separate ways. When I got home and told my mom the whole story, she then burst into tears as well. It’s been 3 years later and I still think of Carol. In fact I think about her often, especially with George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and the countless other innocent black lives who have been murdered at the hands of the police and a corrupt justice system since. I’ve known from that day on just how profound that whole encounter was. My children, my grandchildren, and my great-grandchildren will hear this story too. And I will definitely be showing them this phenomenal movie.

I never quite understood BLM until recently, I a 14 year old white girl promise to keep the black people around me safe, no matter the cost whether it is my rights, my speech, or even my life. Our race shouldn't divide us, give some privilege, and make us feel any less safer than each other. All lives matter when black lives matter. If you disagree you are the problem, and try being in the situation of George Floyd or any black person who have gone through this or are going through this currently, you will have a different view on not just racism but life itself.
