Bro what creativity??? Kojima should decide is he a game developer or a computer animated cartoon/movie producer. because real gamers ( unlike stupid PS and Kojima fanboys ) don't want f 11 h long cutscenes in their game We want actually interesting game play The Only reason i even finished Death Stranding 1 was because i set a goal to myself to connect every city and bunker with a zip lane network, so the whole map is connected, but outside of that there is nothing really to do in that game. The world is empty you can only build limited items most that simply help you to move around ,but once you have ziplane network setup it all becomes pointless, yes even driving on road is pointless if you have direct , shortest way connections to every place ( like i had ) Fighting BTs is pointless fighting Muels is pointless and with my zipline network you will avoid them all. There is nothing really in terms of gameplay in Death stranding. Kojima lacks the imagination to even create monuments like in RUST....maybe a mission to fix a broken water system factory and another mission to free some mineral producing facility from BTs and then after that that place will start producing important building materials you need for your base building or what ever. NO, nothing like that, there are not even places like that on the map. Instead we have Mule camps, BT areas and copy paste cities and bunkers WAO SOOOO CREATIVE Kojima is a clearly confused man.... he has too many YES sayers around him who dont tell him that he is creatively bankrupt. ____________________________________________ What i learned over the years i that DONT PRE ORDER any AAA game just wait and see, let the game come out, and wait for the youtube videos and reviews.. and not just from one channel , but from different channels. As far as part 3, he went years wondering what the concept will be and recently he finally found it, a concept that will be it's own thing but have a thread through all the games. The story that involves Tommy is not the concept that Neil has in mind for part 3. That was made clear in the documentary, noting that this story is to be decided if it sees the light of day, in the form of either a video game or a tv show. Neil said that he recently conceived a concept for a potential third part, even though the story is not yet written. From what he stated, i highly doubt that the Tommy "DLC" story has anything to do with it.

I feel like it may still very much become part of the greater TLOU3 plot. e.g. Ellie goes to stop Tommy, we'll get those flashbacks of Tommy and Joel, we'll still see Abby and Lev's side etc. Neil kinda talks about how there will be a throughline across all three games so it'd make sense to me at least.

Playing TLOUP2, I was met with so much dissapointment and I remembered telling myself is this how my last moments of gaming is going to be. I decided to get Death Stranding as just to see what it was about. From the 1st moment into the open world and being alone on this journey. I got pulled in by the concept of how much we take for granted: people around us, the air, the atmosphere, the tranportations, our lives etc.... All of that jazz. I rememeber climbing and coming down a massive mountian in the game, reaching near a port and the music starts playing(1st time experiences this music cue). Tears got to me and I just felt that everything I went through in this life, was a journey profound and that I did my best to have a good life and if this was my end, so be it; I have overcame many things and death was not a fear I had contained anymore. Death Stranding meant allot to me and it was my most played game on my Ps4. Such a unique experience. I am happy to be alive today. I can't wait for the second game!

GREAT to have you back Robin, and with a stellar video. I too am more excited for the morbid yet whimsical absurdity that will be Death Stranding 2 more than any other announced game. I've found a lot less time to play over the past couple of years, so I have to be a lot more discerning with where I place my enthusiasm and spend my time. Regarding TLOU Part 2: I think a lot of people have, with time, come to accept the game for what it was and feel that, while their will always be a certain level of hysteria about the decisions made, it has mostly died down. It's not the best metric, but the user metascore for the remaster being much higher than that of the original is a promising sign. As someone who really enjoyed the story of Part II, I hope that whatever they do next with the franchise comes from a place of genuine enthusiasm. If it takes some time for them to figure out what that is, I'm OK with that. I also looked at the cancellation of Factions 2 rather cynically. It seems like such a monumental waste of effort, and knowing Sony's live service ambitions I can't help but feel the game was the one silver lining among a sea of unwanted decisions like Fairgame$, Concord and the Bungie acquisition. The reasoning Naughty Dog offered never seemed very convincing. How could they lack so much foresight? Why wouldn't Sony step into build a new studio with those who wished to continue working on it alongside some new hires? Factions 2 was clearly their best bet at live service success, and with so much progress and such a large audience already established, I still find the decision baffling months on. Anyway, it's probably best to move on like Naughty Dog have. My consoling hope is that we will see at least one original release from them this console generation.

They just need to release a The Last of Us Prequel at this point. Make it about Joel and Tommy during the 20 years of the pandemic before the beginning of the Joel wakes up in Boston scene. At least make it like a "Uncharted: Lost Legacy" thing. One can only hope. But for me personal opinion would be a great move for The Last of Us, to see the struggles of brotherhood and the change of the world during those 20 years, the survival mode one has to change into and the person that a normal individual can become. The fear of not being able to trust anyone, but having to transition from being able to trust humans to not hurt you lets just say to every single person being a potential danger. And then see how both Joel and Tommy grew together and then grew apart.

Every Sony game, even if I love it, uses the same platforming styles…except DS. After getting excited when I saw the new trailer, I bought the Director’s Cut of the first game (at a discount!) on digital. But it stands out, and came out at just the right time: during COVID when the world was torn apart. Giving and receiving likes and bringing people together is just what we needed! So weird but so special. And yes, the puppet reminded me of Mimir!

9:40 It's not quirkiness, it's his inner most thoughts portrayed in a poetry style where everything isn't suppose to make sense just in terms of expression and thought. You can get a sense of what kojima is thinking about in the game. You are the second person to think kojima just adds things to his games randomly without thought. Higgs character, pay attention to the hair and to Amelies hair do you not see a resemblance? Higgs did something to come back likely with Amelie, also pull apart Amelies name, A ME Lies don't think in terms of one to one, Higgs characters a reference to the Higgs boson. The question i have is it his mind only, maybe he's doing an analytical deep dive like I'm trying to do to Kojima.

It’s significant to point out that the clip of Neil talking about Future projects is from 9/10 months ago.Cancellation of Factions 2 was waay later .Whether new IP or Part III by now they probably have a clear roadmap of their projects

Am I the only one that doesn't get the hype around wanting Tommy as the main protagonist. He really isnt that interesting of a chatacter compared to what joel and ellie were. We can already piece together joel and tommys backstory, it isn't that hard to understand. Joel protected tommy no matter what the cost. Killing bla bla bla, taking dirty jobs to survive bla bla bla, do we really need a 10-20 hour game stretching out this one concept because y'all WON'T LET JOEL'S DEATH GO.
@MonkeyPowerkey10 ай бұрын
Neil didn't say that The Last of Us Part 3 would be about Tommy. Neil said, they HAD an idea for a Tommy story. But that was a smaller scale thing. So not a Part 3. Maybe a DLC, a smaller scale digital game, or TV show. But Neil also said they dropped that idea. And they had not idea for Part 3, until now. Now Neil had a concept (not a story) for a potential Part 3 that would be different, but fit with the troughline of the two first game to form something of a complete trilogy.

How can people still not see what a pretentious hack Kojima Hideo is at this point. Death Stranding is so full of excess it’s not even worth critiquing. Shinkawa Yoji art and mechanical design is completely wasted in Koji productions, too bad he isn’t paired up with a real game director.

5:10 Wow, i actually didn't think about the possibility of sam getting that as a gadget to help against BT(s) when he's very close to one or some of them. That is brilliant!
@jjdude0011 ай бұрын
One change we see you that will certainly improve every combat encounter is when sam takes off his entire backpack, and it floats by itself, while he pulls out his gun to shoot the robot. Not being lugged down by all your cargo during fights will make a huge difference, but makes you wonder if now ammo will work more traditionally, and you can actually pick up ammo and reload, or if you still have to carry multiple guns around. I'm hoping the swordfight will also translate to gameplay somehow.

Part III should be and will be about Ellie. I hope, we get to see her happy at the end of Part 3 (and a proper Goodbye for Joel). But I don’t believe Naughty Dog anything. They’ve proven that they will lie to sell their product. (I watched the 2 hour making of.) Talking about Tommy is a red hering (maybe we get a Tommy DLC). Part III is the continuation of the story of Ellie, since she is in both games.

TLoU2 performed so poorly, it got a permanent price drop less than _three months_ after it's release, which is unheard of for a AAA Sony game. To this day, it's constantly on sale every time I check the PSN store, and it receieved yet another permanent price drop. In comparison, almost all of the other AAA games that came out during and even _before_ TLoU2 are still full price.

I feel so nostalgic watching your videos and I was wondering if now that we are all a bit older, you will experience the same effect of nostalgia when playing PS5 games. I notice that the analogue era has a revival with everyone who has mental I'm getting sick of all commercial games/apps, would the gaming world go along with this and would this be an opportunity to build new nostalgic memories or is it simply because we are all getting older and that feeling has quietly disappeared?

Nice to have you back Robin. 2 points: I dont think ill ever go back to naughty until there's a major management and direction change. I have 0 interest in anything they put out now. As for death stranding, its just a theory of mine but it seems to me like people are getting out of it what you get out of going hiking/backpacking which are things I enjoy so I'd rather just do them irl than in a game regardless of how crazy the story is so I'm not very interested.

Look bud, I don't know what to tell you, you yourself said games are about entertainment. If the game's not entertaining and goes out of its way to be convoluted and "quirky" simply for the sake of someone's artistic integrity, it's not the fault of the market for not buying into it if they can't find it enjoyable. The market do what the market do, if you want to sit in a closet and huff farts, by all means, just don't be surprised when people point out the game's weaknesses. The amount of eggshell-walking going on here is.. impressive, really. Saying in so many ways that, even as a glowing fan of the IP you have your points of concern and remain to be convinced about certain elements is rather telling. All these cries to "keep an open mind" when, frankly, not all of us have the luxury of time and finances to just throw at something that doesn't get to the point and doesn't deliver on entertainment seems like cope: the market is saturated with excellent gameplay and story experiences, and it doesn't take some outlandish, overproduced and overpriced CGI-vomit, esoteric narrative exposition and endless slogging through empty and boring landscapes to get to it.

Absolutely, I would love to let go and move on. Naughty Dog intended to make a divisive game. The Fandom decided to stay away and in return NG labeled those people as haters and close minded. I watched a dozen KZbinrs play, most liked the game. Good for them.

Ehh there's a fine line between wanting something straightforward and wanting something weird. From softwares games are weird and ambiguous and people eat it up. People's issue with recent Kojima projects is that there's more of it than ever, and most of it never makes sense.

Glad to see you again Robin, but honestly you're not wrong for having the thoughts you had on gaming. I thought about your older video as you discussed the reason why you don't talk about games anymore, because news nowadays is focused on just drama and gossip. It also doesn't help that you're coming off of the backlash you faced for speaking the truth about Naughty Dog. Alongside that, games nowadays are in a bad rutt. Creativity is lacking, new games are either remakes of older IP, or sequels from the same series. As you mentioned in your video, even new games feel like other games compiled in one. It's crazy to see that the most innovative sector in entertainment is suffering the most with lack of creativity, closures, and tight budgets.
