I had an idea where you should be able to select a souvenir you have and have that replace the Health Pack Icon while playing any mode, so instead of the usual plus box youd have a slice of pizza or any item you've unlocked. Give them an actual purpose thats unique to each player. Also weapon skins shouldve been unlocks for completing Hero Mastery Mode, give you an actual reason to play and get high scores on the courses for your favorite heroes. Instead we have to pay $30 damn dollars to change the way your weapon looks. Thats insane and im not buying any of them, not even for my main Illari

The game is terrible now and the worst thing about it is the predictable match maker. If you win a game you can guarantee it will be followed by a insta loss cause you got a dps on your team that got only 5 elims all game. The match maker needs to be reworked and fixed. The balance is horrible but the rigged match maker is even worse.

Imagine if 5v5 was 2 tanks - 2 DPS - 1 support. If that was the case every fight would start with a support kill since everyone would hard focus it playing heros like Tracer and Genji to dive the backline no matter the situation which then immediately wins the fight for the team who gets the pick all the while the poor solo support getting hung out to dry gets blamed by the team for the loss for a "heal diff". It would also mean half the support roster doesn't get played because they don't have a sustain or get out of jail ability which would be a throw. How many people would enjoy playing support then? Thats the current tank life.

But if instead of a support you take away a dps it could actually work. last season for a meme i played open que to get the top500 player icon since thats about how many players that game mode has and it was actually the most fun ive had with the game in months whenever people were willing to flex. 2-1-2 with the reduced tank hp pools worked fine. Tanks were actually able to die, but also able to peel eachother. Just raw heal output felt less impactful with the lower tank hp pools so supports actually had to support instead of healbot, and again the other tank meant damage was getting spread out AND your team was rewarded for having a good target focus. It wasnt perfect as its clearly not what the game was balanced around, but it worked decently even then. Now imagine if they actually tried balancing it.

It’s funny cause 221 is how Paladins (last I remember) was played and it was really jarring coming back to overwatch after years of Paladins finding I am now solo tanking. Since the base numbers are so much higher on everything, healers are allowed to actually solo heal and they only really struggle late when the heal reduction scales to 90% and even then you have ways to reduce the heal cut.

Something that irks me about OW2's balance lately... OW Community: Can you nerf [Support hero] ? They are too strong and exasperate boring and busted metas. OW Devs: Did you say, "Change everything about the game and introduce MORE power creep, instead of nerfing said support"? - OW Community: Can you change this part of a hero so it's more balanced/fun to play with/against? OW Devs: Did you say, "Make a completely unrelated change that doesn't fix the problem with the hero?" - OW Community: This hero (*cough* Hanzo *cough*) isn't fun right now, and the new balance changes make him feel unrewarding, weak, and enforce an unfun playstyle. Can you change him? OW Devs: Actually, Said hero is fine in low ranks, so we won't buff them. - OW Community: This hero has been busted for a while now. Can you nerf them? @@justarandomfan2421 Fun fact - The part about "changing an ability to be more fun to use and play against" was actually in reference to Illari Pylon. A lot of people asked to make the Pylon have a duration and put more healing into Illari herself instead of a turret that can be placed in near impossible to destroy locations without much thought from the player themselves. of course... Blizzard didn't listen to any feedback...

In OW1 I played support like Brig and off-tanks like DVA and I had a great time. My aim isn't great even though my game sense was pretty good, so I really enjoyed playing characters that enabled other characters. I liked playing Zarya so I could bubble an aggressive Rein, I liked playing Orisa to compliment a mean Roadhog on my team. I loved to take high ground as Dva with Sigma on the choke below, etc. I made a bunch of friends because everyone liked my Dva so much, so I actually had friends I only knew from playing OW with because back then the game made it really easy to chat after a game and group up if you wanted to. Only once in my entire OW2 history has anyone hit the "group up" option, even though it happened all the time in OW1 for me. Now I have no new friends in the game and my old friends don't want to play it anymore. I don't want to play it anymore. I might only play the game once a month now, and if I don't keep up with all the patch changes I might be in for a rude awakening (like the bizarre LOS change to Sigma's ult). I still enjoy playing Dva in metas where she is strong but I don't really enjoy playing tank on any other role anymore. I kind of want to uninstall the game but I see it as flushing an investment of sorts. I have bought skins and bought battle passes, always kind of hoping I'd eventually love the game as much as I loved the first, but here we are almost two years in and I never want to play anymore. All because the game went 5v5 and my role as off-tank got perma-removed. (I know I mentioned playing Orisa, who was a main tank... I played main tanks too, like Rein and Sigma, but Dva and Zarya were a lot more fun in OW1 and old Orisa was not the tank beast she has unfortunately become in OW2). I'll be honest, I don't hate Push. I hate Flash Point and I am going to hate this new mode if I ever get around to playing it. But I hate that there are only three push maps. I much prefer payload maps or hybrid maps, but push is still better for me than Flash Point. I'm also just tired of all the stupid lies. No PvE, no weapon inspections, constant balance failures... and you are right, they are very quick to dump any feature at the drop of a hat. Instead of coming up with new modes and new characters, maybe they should fix the game first.

Honestly I'm 50 50 on both they need to release both as a qp and comp option or at the very least just qp but in order for both to happen blizzard would need too add the 5v5 format to 5v5 and the 6v6 format to the 6v6 mode which judging how far in the dumps this game has gone that might be a bit too much for blizzard too handle also the dps passive that effects tanks is way too much it needs a nerf (this is coming from a dps main) but not too much or we are back to healers pocketing the tanks for the whole game which takes 20 shots from reapers shotgun just to kill

Whether that is 5v5 or 6v6 makes or breaks for me personally, as I am an OG open beta Overwatch 1 player who dislike the reduction in complexity that 5v5 has brought. If vast majority prefers 5v5 and they outright claim its there to stay, at least then I can confidently say I won't be back.

Been playing since ow1 season 3. Ow1 had balance problems pretty much all the time, and for some reason the devs would often do things that barely anyone would be asking for. I doubt ANY NORMAL player sat there and thought "id love it if they added a support that can provide burst healing and over-armour across the map with no aim required, has a shield, a boop, heals themself and allies a good distance away whenever dealing dmg, provides over-armour with ultimate and has a stun", but the devs gave birth to brig anyway. I doubt ANY NORMAL player asked for a support that has AoE burst healing, similar dps capabilities to some actual dps, another form of AoE burst healing that also heals the user, a way to make the whole team immortal, can move to highground effortlessly and has a way to provide dmg boosting, yet Bap was created anyway. Of course i dont have the stats, so i could be totally wrong. Maybe there were a decently high amount of people asking for characters with those kinds of abilities. But i have a question - When did anyone suggest or ask for the game to go to 5v5? From bronze to gm, you could find people that had their own ideas of how to improve some of the problems with the game. Regardless of how wrong or right some of those ideas mightve been, when did any of them mention swapping to 5v5? Almost never, because most people knew that would cause a WHOLE BUNCH of other problems AND be a different format from the one we were all used too. It would be a different format from the one we were willing to try when we BOUGHT OW1. Clearly It would be pretty stupid to swap to 5v5 without AT LEAST letting players test it out for a few months and cast a vote of some sort to decide if they want to stick with 6v6 or not, right..? Nah we at blizzard know what you players want even before you want it. Right now you guys want to forget about how badly we try to not revert any changes if it would make us look like we were in the wrong at any point, or make any positive changes if it wouldnt look like we thought of the idea first. Now turn your attention to our new and improved shop!!! Look at the generous discounts we provide on most of our items, even though those items have not, and would not actually be sold for that higher price we show you, meaning its just there to make you think "WOW ID BETTER ACT FAST BEFORE THE ITEM LEAVES THE SHOP OR THE DISCOUNT ENDS!!!" The scary part is yeah, i dont doubt the idea of 5v5 was suggested by some players before, but was that the majority? no The majority wanted different balance patches from the ones we got. So why now does the WHOLE playerbase have to deal with 5v5, when a small amount of people suggested it? Because Ow devs were too stubborn. Im NOT saying making balance changes that please the majority of the players would be the easiest job in the world obviously, but how do you manage so often to make changes that seem to DISPLEASE the majority of players. The devs seem so caught up with trying to make EVERYTHING in the game come out to about 50-50 win rate, and yet the player satisfaction rate has felt for years like its been only bout 25%, if even that much... Again, i dont have any stats so you could say im pulling these numbers out of my ass, but they do sound right to me. Blah blah blah rant over

To kinda clarity, they tested 5v5 out on 2 occasions. The first was before OW1 was released. The conclusion for that time was, "Your mistakes are too visible and pressure too high." The second time was before OW2 was released. They gathered pro players in Hawaii to test out 5v5. Pros unanimously said it was a bad idea and will bring many issues that we see today. Blizzard did it anyway. That's right. The one time Blizzard utilized pro players and asked for their feedback, they completely ignored them. The rest of the player base was either confused, cautiously optimistic, or hostile towards 5v5. Blizzard themselves acknowledged the glaring flaws with the format, and 2 years in, those flaws are still here.

For me, it's just that the game is changing and getting further and further away from what I loved about OW. Remember what everyone was saying when OW2 was first released? "It's the same game". You know what? I really wish it was. I played OW1 from the very beginning and have played every season up to now. There were awful metas to play into, terrible balance issues, but I still logged on almost every day, and enjoyed every minute I spent playing. We were given this promise that we were going to be getting something better, and I trusted in the Team. So far, I've only been pushed further and further from this game with every patch. Even the last thing that let me enjoy this game, my favorite hero, was ripped away with the S9 patch. Hanzo was stripped of his identity, his expression, and fun. I miss Overwatch 1. I miss the feeling of wanting to log into the game I enjoyed - win or loss. Bring back 6v6. All they have to do is be as present for it as they have been for 5v5. It WOULD be better.

I find it funny that they swapped to 5v5 to deal with matches being too long And then have only done things to make it harder to kill people Higher healing numbers Healers with abilities that serve as get out of jail free cards The loss of a lot of high damage combos The very fact that DPS has a passive to reduce how much people heal should tell OW that, yes, things have gone too far

I went to record some gameplay for Overwatch (I use it in the backgrounds a lot) and the game really just feels bad right now. I think it's all perspective, when a person is 16 and plays the OG to now, they most likely won't like it as much, those are major growth years and what we perceive at 16 to early 20's is important. Myself, I just started playing OW2 about 2 weeks ago and I love it, this game is amazing and I don't know why I didn't play it earlier, but I am playing it now and I LOVE this game so much.

I'm happy to hear others enjoying the game but I think it's subjective but also based around what the old player base (2016 players) were there during the golden days and now we are here. Also, I feel you can't miss something you never had.

I think the reason OW2 feels so bad right now is that the hopium is all gone. First, it was 'Hey, let them balance the new format', then it was 'well, Blizz is getting bought by microsoft, it'll get better', and now... now, we let them cook and have been served garbage. The shop is better only by comparison and still isn't good, and theres no reason to expect anything different on the horizon. People are just straight up giving up hope.

It's been how long and we still don't have answers to all these issues the game has. Blizz needs to take the L and revert back to just calling the game Overwatch, bring back 6v6, and getting rid of role passives. This is my next video based off the poll that's up currently.

Overwatch severely needs a guild system, where teams and team environments can be created and grown naturally -all within the game UI. Scrim and practice scheduling, match search, a ranked mode for teams exclusively, etc. And make it represent the core of what this game's pinnacle aspires to be. Minimize rng, random players and non-synergies, promote teamwork genuinely, etc. And it won't make the game more sweaty, it'll make it more consistent and true to the original vision for this game. It's wild to me that the dev teams have jumped through so many hoops, reworks, format changes, engine changes -yet at no point have they seriously considered a guild system. The one feature that unilaterally promotes everything healthy about the game, and seeks to cut out all the rng bullshit that people on forums complain about every single day. Make actual team play convenient for those who want to take OW to a higher level and have something meaningful to grind for and improve at. It's that simple.

And Aaron Keller had a twitter post talking about working on a guild system. There was a comment somewhere in some thread on the OW forums with the links that I saw about 2-3 weeks ago.

Why we can only do so with special skins that at best works only for one skin and for rest fits about as well as fist fits a nose? It's at a certain point where even me, I haven't ever experienced 6v6, would want to go to 6v6. It just looks like it makes more sense to have two tanks so that it would be less frustrating. I hate the tank role, being so important and so influential, while not being able to do much without blowing up, is just dumb.

Some suggestions I have for the shop: 1) The REAL SKIN PRICE (not the bundle price) should be readily shown in the Shop, players should not have to go to the Hero Gallery to find the real price of the solo skin 2) any skin Recolors should be solidly discounted for owners of any version of that skin

Because nobody would play the other game modes, and they’re completely aware of it. Imagine willingly selecting qp or comp in 5v5 when classic 6v6 would be right there. Players would just make their own ranking system for the arcade mode through stuff like clans etc, not bothering with the garbage that is every other 5v5 mode 😅

Dude, that was so great to listen to. I play rarely right now and mostly on consoles, but I spent 300+ hours in the first game and 100+ in the second and the main thing how I can describe playing as one tank (before s10 or after s10), is that I'm afraid to play. I'm constantly worried that if I'm tank (even in non-comp mode) I'm now under pressure. I can't pick who I'm best with, I have to play what's best for the team, there's no 2nd person to help my team out when I'm dead, and I don't enjoy that. As for role queues, I am not sure what's the way around it but I hate current situation. I'm finding games fast, because I play tank or support mainly, but I have dps that I enjoy, for example, I've returned to the game after a few seasons and here's Venture, and I'm so happy to play as her, it just feels as a wholesome hero (in terms of personality and character design) made for OW1. But I have to wait 5-6min on console to play as dps (non ranked). And when I play as all roles, I can play 8-10 matches without getting a chance for dps.

A thing that they need to bring back is being confident and okay with nerfing heroes or numbers. So many times throughout the entirety of OW2 I’ve seen them nerf a hero, mainly a dps or a support, and give them a compensation buff which completely negates the whole purpose of a balance change. introducing robust AoE healing with Moira, Brig, Baptiste, Mercy Ult Changes, Lucio Healing Aura Buff, and also generally increasing the amount of HPS a healer could put ouch such as Mercy and Zen having their healing more than doubled what they were on launch, has led to the death of the Specialist role in overwatch by removing any downside of stacking every player character together in a big ball and running down the middle of a map, whereas previously if you did that everyone would just die because healing was so limited, it encouraged everyone to spread out to avoid things like splash damage and supplement themselves on health kits. Now, because of AoE healing, every character needs to be able to fill the role of being put in the stupid Body Ball and rolled down the middle of the stage, so previously specialist characters like Hanzo, Symmetra, Torbjorn, Bastion, etc. had to be reworked into being front line fighters, and it has largely killed any interest i had in the game by homogenizing character design, which is also bleeding into even more characters with 5v5. epic.

I’m someone who barely touched Overwatch 1 but got into it when Overwatch 2 came out, as someone who’s essentially never played the 6v6 era, I don’t really have a say to complain about the current era of Overwatch. I basically had to use LFG 90% of the time back in Ow 1 and is worked well for me and 6v6 felt like it had more balance and strategy than 5v5. ow 2, 5v5 big numbers go boom don’t really need to think or communicate that much.

currently at the start of season 11, maybe i'm just sensitive, but let me explain; I was bored so i hopped into a comp game (silver 4) recently dropped from sliver 3 so I wanted to rank up, I was healing my tank and suddenly our sombra was screaming for healing, i though my other support would help but no (maybe they were dead? idk) but i was instantly told "stop pocketing our tank, heal our dps" I kind of just paused, because I did?? then I was called a healbot, and a loser. So i left the match even though I would get kicked out for 9 minutes. I left. And I got called a loser for it :/

I played since 2017, played comp through dive, GOATS, and double shield I personally loved GOATS being a tank main, and absolutely despised Brig. she was where the games downfall began. Instead of nerfing Genji, tracer, winston or dva to reduce dive, they introduced a whole new broken character. Blizzard still has this problem of not nerfing characters and constantly buffing or increasing health and it’s clearly destroying the game. When double shield came around, i switched to dps and mained sombra. From beginning to this point, i climbed to mid/high diamond and stopped playing bc i hated double shield. After that i went to college, so i didnt have much time to play at all I came back recently and have been noticing a lot of similar issues you and other youtubers like flats and frogger bring up. I agree with almost all of them. And i think its so funny because people would tell me i was just bad at the game or didnt know what i was talking about, or would also blame it on the fact that im a girl which was so dumb Anyway, happy to see that a lot of these opinions arent just my own. I am a tank main also the game is terrible now and the worst thing about it is the predictable match maker. If you win a game you can guarantee it will be followed by a insta loss cause you got a dps on your team that got only 5 elims all game. The match maker needs to be reworked and fixed. The balance is horrible but the rigged match maker is even worse. They need to bring back 6v6 or the game is as good as dead.

I think we should earn the premium currency the BP (same as every other F2P) but much more than what we currently have. Rocket League, Fortnite, The Finals...for example all give you more premium currency than what you paid to unlock bp. As for the other currency, I think we should earn a set amount after each level up for your account. (That's how it was in OW1)

Unpopular opinion: I like Push lol i personally like the maps too. I on the other hand absolutely hate Flashpoint and the maps, it feels like it should be in the Arcade playlist. I hate how much they push the new maps in comp. I swear i went like 2 days of only getting push and flashpoint. I felt like i was going insane. I don’t care how old the maps are, but i love Kings Row, Dorado, Route 66. I love the old maps. I was never much a fan of buying skins, but when the Cowboy bebop ones came out i was like finally something i really want. It’s greedy how they set their prices it forces you to either buy the entire bundle for like $70 instead of like one skin for $40. Then you have the weird way they set the prices of in game currency. Which again forces you to buy the more expensive currency because it’s always just a bit off. You barely earn in game currency by playing. You have to play an insane amount of comp to be able to afford anything. I just want 6v6 back i was an Off tank main and now it’s just not worth it. I only play Dps and Support cause at least i have freedom. You make one mistake as Tank and everyone blames you and all of sudden you’re the reason we lost the match.

I was a huge fan of this game i was playing. It is since OW 1 season 3, and I was a hardcore Zenyatta main, and the highest ever got was grandmaster. I met a lot of great people because of this game, and I'm still really good friends with all of them to this day. Zenyatta is one of my favorite characters in general. But overwatch 2 just wasn't fun anymore. But I had hope that the PvE stuff cause I was really looking forward to that. Would save it, but then they cancel it. And that's when I decided to stop playing it, and I haven't played it since. I started watching a lot of old overwatch, one videos and content from people, and I started really missing the game, but thankfully, Marvel rivals is a ton of fun and very similar.

Tanking in OW1 towards the end was rough for a number of reasons, but many of those reasons aren't in the game now. Blizzard has always struggled with balance but the new additions with the roster would make 6v6 better now than it was before hand. Play in some of the 6v6 pubs and you'll see, the powers/stats are tweaked for the different format. Mauga's shout for example only applies to himself. (just as an example)

As a player since S2 of OW, i miss 6v6. Theres no reason some of the changes couldnt have come to the game in that form like the universal self heal or Orisa rework. It also doesnt make sense to keep tank busters in a format with one tank, especially mauga as a tank busting tank. Ive been playing overwatch since the open beta for OW1 came out. I was obsessed with it. Now? I hate playing Tank in OW2. I miss the 6v6 so so much. Everytime i play with friends most of them dont wanna choose tank, and me and another friend have to force ourselfs to do it. Playing tank is no fun at all anymore. And i really liked the lootboxes. It was so satisfying leveling up and getting one. This feeling of getting a reward for playing is gone. And i miss the player level. I loved people being able to see how much i played already, and i loved seeing how much others played. Also will never understand why they took the old maps away. I want Overwatch 1 back.

Ive come to the conclusion that bliz caters to dead brained healer mains, hence the busted burst healing and the get out of jail free cards. Since all the healer creep, dps got buff3d, but tanks get shredded because of the 5v5 format. Overwatch Tank role is create space , block DMG , peel your backline and yeah stay alive while doing all of that at the same time no matter the buffs/rework it will never fix the issue there are only 2 heros that work in 5v5 in my eyes SIGMA because he has mid/long range DMG and 2 ability to mitigate DMG and junker queen because she is a slim version of hog who is a tank version of reaper

Tank is the only role that doesnt have a direct peer and there are some significant psychological effects to that compared to 6v6 and I think it's pretty simple: One tank = 50% more pressure, 50% less freedom to make plays/decisions, 50% less room to learn, 50% less fun, and so on. After 10 seasons, OW2 just feels like it's less than when it came out, which was already less than OW1. DPS have been reduced to simpletons or a joke. 1 tank = everyone knows what to expect and everyone is bored of it. It's not like there's another Tank to do some new and different combo with. Healers with the current passives are just as redundant and maybe even more boring than they have ever been. Basically, synergies and freedom to do creative things are in the most limited and utterly unsatisfying state they have ever been on every role, but especially Tanks. The game feels lopsided, awkward, and forced with no room for error or fresh takes. OW1 felt like each character could take years to master, but now everything is so limited, watered down, and stripped of identity. Everyone is reaching the ceiling and where do you go from there? Another game perhaps...

I recently came back after quitting for the entirety of the OW2 release and I thought I was crazy for feeling the game wasn't right nor fun anymore, in OW1 I used to play a lot and actually liked the loot box system (mostly because you'd get so many of them) and I didn't need to always constantly worry about being 100 to 0'd in seconds just because a McCree or a Venture saw me. After a while I realized that this was not only because I was rusty, but also because the second tank was missing. I think they did the right decision by eliminating one tank instead of one dps or one support, but it would have been better to keep it 6v6 to begin with. I feel like the damage skyrocketed, the defensive options got weaker and, especially with the robot push mode, the game became overrall too damage focused and fast but less skill-reliant, which is not really a good thing in my opinion

They always say that 6v6 wasnt balanced when it was way more balanced then 5v5 has ever been plus its a comp shooter there will never be a perfect patch for it but 5v5 aint it. Its also the worst feeling having 1 bad tank or just a better enemy tank with good support it just feels like you cant do anything sometimes.

Id disagree with saying clash is bad. You said "whoever wins the first fight wins it all" which i think is untrue since the mode actively incentivizes combacks, due to the score system, and the loosing teams cap points being more defender sided Its not perfect by any means, but its wayyyy better than push or flashpoint Also open queue 6v6 is true overwatch

Most of my games of Clash were just that, the team who wins first fight wins the match. Could be an elo thing for sure. 6v6 open queue was peak!

I started playing in 2018 I'm a fdps player and i really resonated with everything u just said i miss the macro and the depth of 6v6, I'm a competitive player who scrims like 4 times a week and with bigger hitboxes on basically every projectile I feel like we lost a bunch of skill expression. in ow1 ive basically have always been trained to pick a dps that plays well with my tank and now in ow2 i think that doesn't really matter its better for me to just hard counter whatever tank the enemy is on. Idk this is just a dumb gameplay loop cause thats not how i want to play the game is just the most optimal at least in ranked. Blizzard said they wanted this game to be competitive which i assume means they want an esport but they literally do the bare minimum and now u have a bunch of pro player retiring cause there is no money in it. and as a dps player i can tell you 5v5 is a worse format than 6v6 i really hate having a raid boss tank that i have to kill it can be so frustrating when the enemy tank is just significantly better than mine. I assume for tank players it sucks cause of hard counters u get forced off the heros u want to play more in 5v5 than 6v6 idk the fact the devs wont even have a conversation about going back is just sad cause it clearly is better

6v6 was so much better in every way for dps, pushing aside double shield and goats (which both could have been fixed with better balance) I'm glad to see another fellow OG player!

"bad"? the prices are astronimical. OW is a triple A game, that means it sells for 60USD. Then it became "free". In what world do u pay roughly 15 USD for 1 of 30 skins for 1 of 40 characters? by that logic, a person would have to spend $18,000 for all the skins in the game
