This used to be a fun and profitable game back in the 80’s and 90’s, then the thrift stores discovered eBay and prices went up. We used to buy items for as little as $1 that would go for $100 on eBay. On an average Saturday morning we would find many $50+ items for less than $5 each. We used to be able to find at least a couple of the Budweiser collectors mugs from the early 80’s for a buck and they sold for $100-105 every time. Still in the business but now our business has been taken over by the next generation and we only spend a few months a year in town, but we only buy in volume at the storage auctions.

I've been de-cluttering and recently donated boxes of teenie beanie babies in plastic cases, an Eddie Bauer winter jkt and a womens white Spyder jkt, boxes of Halloween and Christmas decor, garden supples, electronics, etc. I did not want to hassle with selling and having people at my house so all went to Salvation Army. I wish you guys were close to where I live so you could have them.

Goodwill has changed their way of doing business. Anything that seems to have value they list on their website. I skip the thrift stores and go directly to the Goodwill bins. I’m amazed how much good stuff in the bins.

Just a dry spell and I think things will improve after the election assuming it goes well. Remember to check out St. Stephen's Episcopal Church sale Nov. 15, 9-3 & 16, 9-1 and again Thursday May 8, 9 & 10 even bigger. Bring shopping bags for your haul and come early to get in line and find easier parking. There is also one earlier at UMChurch in Little River Oct. 18, 8am & 19. It's huge with lots of good prices. Bring shopping bags. BBQ sandwiches or plates are great! Go straight into auditorium first. There's trinkets, smalls, Christmas. kitchen, glass, silverplate, silver, etc. Out & to your left a room full of cheap smalls, across hall jewelry room (not always best buys, but look) down hall is room of clothes & then I can't remember. There's stuff in yard, but do that last. There will be plants, Kayla, furniture & yard stuff. You should have plenty of stock after these two sales. Cat

I'm not sure if the thrift stores and places you go have websites, but goodwill has online bidding (not sure when that started) but what I am hearing from people is that thrifstores etc are being more careful in looking at what they get and selling it either online or upfront so they can make more money. I love you storage videos! That being said, have learned a great deal as you walk through the stores.

I just wanted you to know that if anything has any kind of a stain on it there is a product and it is cheapest at home depot. The name of the product is called PINK. It will get any stain out of anything carpet close you name it and it will get the stain out and will not leave a residue or discoloration it is the most amazing thing I have ever used in my life.

Goodwill is no longer viable for resale in my area in Ohio. Their prices are exorbitant and they have almost nothing worthwhile. It's sad they are so greedy. I do think it is going to hurt them in the long run. Sadly more and more people are throwing their stuff away because they don't like Goodwill and there are so few other places to donate to. I hate that for the planet.

Here in our Florida community there are 3 GW's within 10 miles. The stores are not well patronized, mostly because the merchandise is either poor quality or over priced. I don't like donating to them either. There's a cat rescue thrift store I prefer to support. They have periodic sales and the merchandise is usually quite nice. People love to help cats be adopted and cared for so people like me would rather give our goods to them. Check around your community for smaller thrifts and patronize and donate to them.

Even modern Barbie clothes sell well when you have a big lot like that. You can usually price it at about $0.50 per item (less for accessories and shoes, more for nicer clothing pieces). So for a lot of 100 pieces, which you probably had there in those bags, would easily sell for $35-50. I really like reselling Barbie clothes. And just a tip, you do need to sort through them and throw out badly ripped or stained items.
