some curtains you can pull between the new addition and the living room to keep the heat in the living room or to make privacy for the former office/ now TV room might be worth the investment! Quicker and cheaper for the short term than barn doors. I would use insulated, "blackout" drapes in a neutral color. Also, it doesn't hurt to put a fan in the bedroom!

It's better for your eyes to not face a window when you're working. Light coming for the side isn't as strenuous for your eyes. Smart move to switch the table position! 👍 The bedroom is really cozy, I love the plank walls. I think the Ikea Nordli bedhead would be a nice addition to your bedroom - you'd have a place to put your phones on and hand string lights from.

The closed off office space will mean that you can actually close the door and say "work is over for today" and not have your filming equipment and everything always "there" when you are not working. Seems like a good switch to make also for your mental health! :)

Honeycomb blackout shades all over the house (including kitchen) might be super beneficial during midnight sun season. You could pull them down every evening when it's time to wind down, to darken the entire home and get your brain ready for sleep!

I love having a TV in the bedroom. We don't watch normal TV, but we do cuddle and massage one another while winding down at night for bed while watching a movie or series. It's a very relaxing routine and I wouldn't trade it for the world. Plus, when you feel icky or sick and want to lounge in bed, the TV is there if you just aren't up to reading.

Bedspread, duvet cover, comforter…. Some words for the bed covering in English. A throw blanket is a smaller, lap sized blanket that you would use to keep warm while sitting in a living room. Or you would “ throw” it over a sofa or a bed to decorate it. ❤️

Cecilia, you are so lucky to have a furry child ;-) Give him a huge fur-hug from me, please?? I understand the will to change things around in your house, that is normal and a lot of people do that, some do more than others and that is okay too. Lots of love, Pinkie

i grew up calling the bed cover "bedspread" which is usually not used to cover up with while you sleep but covers your other bed clothes during the day. It sometimes includes pillow shams as well.

Watching you love on your dog makes me miss mine all the more. He passed away on July 1st. I’ve been so heartbroken ever since. But I’m glad you give yours the attention he deserves. We are so blessed by our pets. I think dogs can teach us so much. They understand unconditional love. Humans can’t get that right. If you have a bad day they are there to cheer you up. They never ask for more than food/water and love. And they give so much more in return.❤️🤗

I am an interior architect. Barn doors don’t block/separate sound from rooms. They only provide visual separation. If you want the former office space as a separate TV space from the living room it would be best to install regular solid core swing doors that latch against a door frame.

Yup, 100% true. My parents built their own house from scratch, completely custom made. They had been working on the floor plans and architecture for almost ten years - amending, revising and consulting with experts - before they finally built the house, and they thought they had thought about everything. Turns out that once you actually live in your own "incredibly well thought-out" custom house you will almost immediately run into issues and small things that you never thought about before, and things that you would do differently next time. They still loooove their house, but there are things they want to change in the future.

Smart move! Your office before was dark and so cave-like. Now you have windows and can look outside for inspiration. That space now works perfect for a TV room - you don't need daylight to watch TV. In fact, it's probably better because you don't get all the reflection in the screen.

I whole heartedly agree with needing to live in a place to know what you like and dislike. My father, who happens to be an architect (it is very useful) told me that it is useful to live in the house prior to remodeling. Unfortunately, this is not always possible. We are planning on redoing our kitchen in the next year, but have been living in this place for about 1.5 so we really know what we need/dont need, want/don't want. Luckily for me I have a good architect I can call upon ;)

I immediately imagined the new room with a four poster bed frame!!😍😍 it's a classic cabin/cottage frame and it would give another touch to the small room (I don't think it would shrink the space, I think it would give the character it needs not to be just a room with a bed). You could add some lights around it, some of your prints on the wall and it would look like an amazing little bedroom (mainly during winter and Christmas 🤩).

Love these changes, that new TV room could also be a cute little nursery even if it was only temporary, it's nice to know you can make bigger changes one day if you want but for now this is perfect. I also know having a baby is a very personal choice but I vote yes, what a stunning place to raise a family and teach them to love the outdoors the way you do. My parents raised me in the mountains and I used to always complain when I was younger about how I didn't like hiking etc but I grew up to be a snowboard mountain guide and love it more than anything, I have a deep love for the outdoors and have my parents to thank for that. I had children later in life in my mid to later 30's and nothing has brought me more fun and joy than my daughters.

Your "old bedroom"..you can make that a Murphy bed. That will allow you to make that a multi-purposed space. Handy to take it down for guest sleeping but up and out of the way when no guests. What a great switch! I’d put the bike out on the deck in the warmer months. With the gorgeous water views and the cooler temps while you’re working out, it would be a perfect spot to work up a sweat and not crowd your office.

My how things have changed since I started watching your channel last year. You guys are now starting to keep in mind certain things in case you ever have a child which is exciting to hear, and I am now pregnant 😂. Good luck to you both! Loving your content!

A BABY!!!! Yes, hurry and decide! What a splendid idea. Babies have a way of “renovating” your whole living space. 😉
