The trenching machine reminds me of a 'low end' rototiller I once bought. Nothing like PTO powered.

Nice for tight spaces and getting under trees, though!

Ours works wonderfully. And you’ll be surprised at the effectiveness. Colleen and I put the collars on ourselves to test them because we would not do anything that actually hurt our dogs. It’s not an electric shock but rather a surprising, vibrating buzzing thing that doesn’t really hurt at all. The surprise is really a surprise though. And once our dogs hit the boundary a few times they don’t go anywhere near the boundaries, even without the collars on.

We have 2 rescues are newest needed a collar. She is about 4 we just want to keep her safe. Surprising how much we love are pets.

Our dog roamed our 7 acres, but knew all the boundaries. NEVER would go in the road, or cross it. HOWEVER, she did like the delivery vehicles....she got in a UPS truck, once, and he took her on his route before he realized she was quietly sitting behind him the whole way. He had to make one extra delivery, bringing her back home.

Our other property had a long driveway with a bridge that crossed the stream. She rarely went to the other side.

Very interesting video ! I just retired a couple years ago and went to work with a life long friend who does this for a living now. We cover NC Outer Banks up into southern Virginia around Norfolk, Virginia Beach area. Fun work !

Great video, Ed. We have a 90 lb lab and the same acreage you do. My question is what if the dog got up a good head of steam and blew right through the warning and mild correction in a millisecond, then could not get back in the yard because of the system is now keeping her out instead of in? This is the reason our dog is on a long lead instead of this type of system. I looked into them a while ago, and decided against it. Thanks, and Cheers!

Thanks Mike. That’s a real thing, but that’s where training comes in. Supposedly once they learn the boundaries they will hit the brakes when they reach it. Hachi is not there yet. She has broken through to chase the mail truck a couple times. We’re working on it!

Also have an invisible fence ,my two dogs will not even chase a rabbit out side the fence, they are both Cavaliers ,have heard of some dogs had to be shaved around the neck until they learned, too much hair could not feel the mild shock!
