Hi everyone, I realized a should have been a little more exact with the specs, cause I know it matters to a lot of people. So here they are. Pretty simple. It is the base M3 Max chip configuration. 14” MacBook Pro M3 Max 36 GB ram 1TB ssd 14 core CPU 30 core GPU

Congrats!! I’ve got 16 inch m3 Max in silver & it’s never too late to unbox ,wish I could go back & do it again😂 thankfully it’s never got hot till now, fingers crossed

Thanks. Congrats to you also! I really struggled if I wanted to get the 16inch again. But I’ve been traveling a lot more so ultimately it felt bigger and heavier than my old one even so the 14 was perfect for me. The screen on the 16 looks incredible though! You’ll just have to get another one to unbox 😂. Yep definitely has never got hot or fans come on. Cheers AT. Thanks for watching!

@@MichaelNgvyen I completely get it , mine is 16 as I wanted a big screen( use it without my external monitor if I am lazy ) & do not intend to travel with it. As for getting another, not happening soon I hope - I will have to win a lottery to be able to do so 😁 till then vicariously reliving the gone day by watching others unbox 😂

Congratulation for the new Macbook Pro. I'm in the market for buying one too. Im wondering: How bad/often does the fan kicks in on the max? I heard it might have a cooling problem.

Hey Lena! Thank you! Fans have never kicked up once! I have edited everything from 30 min documentary edits, I’ve had big Raw photo files open to edit and it’s been smooth and quiet. In my opinion it doesn’t have a cooling problem. Hope that gives you better insight. Thanks for watching the video. Appreciate your time!

This was really helpful. I bought the 2019 MBP months before the M1 came out, too and have been trying to power through but the battery life is so annoying, smh. May have to upgrade just so i'm not stuck to a charger all day, haha. Thanks for sharing!

Oh man!!!! I feeeel your pain! Definitely if you can sell yours or do the apple trade in go for the upgrade. The actual feel of using the laptop isn’t really anything different BUT the quality of life is big. Not stuck to the charger as you mentioned. No fan noise. It hasn’t got hot on me. And on top it rips through work. Especially if you are into video work. Hope that extra insight helps you. Thanks doe watching! Cheers!

Love watching "M-class" macbook unboxings! got an older 16 M1 MAX which is my very first Apple purchase. Though I've been dreaming of owning one for more more than 1 decade. It's so crazy powerful and it still feels brand new. opening it was a major moment in my life for sure. A worthy investment indeed.

@@MichaelNgvyen Thanks for the reply, I'm ur newest subscriber haha. I'm currently deciding between the 14" m3 pro and yours, the 14" base m3 max. I've been researching if the 14" base m3 max really is that easy to kick on the fans. I usually have many chrome tabs open and other applications. Did you notice fan noise yet? If so what triggered it?

Hey thanks for the sub! I’ve only had it for a week so it’s hard to say. I do plan in doing a much shorter video but more in depth yo what you are talking about but what I can so so far. I had Safari open with 6 tabs. A youtube video playing. Two final cut projects open and 15 33 megapixel RaW photos and no fan noise. The RAM memory was up there though at around 32-34 usage. I think from what many people have told me form my research its hard to get the fans to kick up even with just the Pro chip. Hope that helps!

@@MichaelNgvyen Yes that helps, thanks for sharing that scenario. About ram, my goal initially was 48gb ram, but annoyingly for the base m3 max it's either 36gb or 96gb.. Anyway still looking forward to ur video that covers fan noise, it seems like many others are also deciding between the 14" m3 pro and the 14" base m3 max regarding that issue.

@@timothyvanvliet7802don’t worry about the ram too much, apple tries to use as much ram as possible for their apps. “No ram wasted” kind of describes it best. The ram pressure is what matters, if you see it hitting yellow or peaking that’s when you know your pushing it

I have the same specifications as you, MacBook Pro 14" Laptop - M3 Max chip - 36GB Memory - 14-core CPU, 30-core GPU - 1TB SSD, it's an incredibly efficient and powerful machine however I've been thinking about returning it and picking up the same model but the 16-inch version. Do you think I should do that because the extra screen real estate would be amazing ?

Hey! First, thanks for watching! Definitely hard to say! I travel a lot so I felt the new 16” a bit to fat and heavy. I really like the 14”. But when I’m not traveling I use a monitor. I guess if you dont travel a lot and don’t use a monitor the 16” would be really nice! I just think about if you are planning to travel more in the future with your laptop because then the 14” will really be handy. Hope that helps!

I also went with the Space Black (from amazon as it was £300 cheaper), though I did pop into an Apple Store just to check that the choice was a good one! I like that it's not pure black and appears to change tone according to the light.

The honest answer is to get whichever ever one you can get for a better price! The Max chip is going to give you a huge leap in performance no matter what. If you are a photo editor or video. You should really consider more than 16gb of ram though! Which I think is more important. Hope that helps you. Thanks for watching!

Similar experience with me. I used to own MacBook Pro 16 inch 2019 (intel i9, 32GB RAM, 1 TB SSD) and recently upgraded to MacBook Pro M3 Pro 16” (12cCPU, 18cGPU, 36B RAM, 1 TB SSD). It’s blazing fast and the Andar Helm in navy make it a standout among the crowd, and I’m lovin’ it. 😁😃

My fans have not kicked up one time. Over the last days. I have culled and edited a 300 raw photo library. Interview multi cam video project. reels. Upload to clients, downloading footage from dropbox. Watching YT videos at 4k. You name it. Have heard a sound from it. For reference I have it docked to my 5k monitor with the Laptop screen closed. I was also considering going back to the classic silver. But I must say I really like the Space black. In some light it’s really deep black and in some light it’s actually a deep space grey ish. Hope that helps you. Thanks for watching!

M3 Max Macbook Pro does get hotter than previous versions. If you are fine with that, the performance gains are amazing. It's like carrying around a M2 Studio with a nice screen.

Hey Akin. I have heard it does get hotter than previous M versions. But i have yet to experience that. Or maybe because my old intel would get so hot you could cook an egg on it so this feels like nothing to me 😂 I agree. A beast of a machine with a screen. @@MichaelNgvyenThe best thing to do is adjust the fan curve to come on earlier when it begins to heat up. I hope the next gen they get large copper heat pipes to spread the heat out and adjust the fan curves to come on earlier before it gets too hot
