You may be right, but it is a general issue, that in tamil or south-asian families parents include their children in husband-wife problems. That's why they hate one parent or i see people suffering from the issues of the one parent even after growing-up. They can't differ between this is an issue between mum and dad and theirs.. For example when dad betrayed her mum, the daughter suffers as she is betrayed. She considers it as a betrayal but on the other hand she can't let go of her dad. The reason is that mum or dad show their pain to their children, they share their problems with them even when they are to small to understand. It has a huge impact on their mental development and on building relationships in future. But on the other hand it's always better to cut the contact to one parent if he/she is toxic or kind of abusive. You always have to consider the future of the children!!!
