Hank, keep up the good work, my dude. You inspire me to build and for that, I thank you.

@@SpruesNBrews I was binge watching your episodes; now I'm building a tamyaia 1/35 panzer 3. My first kit in 25 years. I don't remember these parts being so small!

I remember building this kit about 30 years ago. Issued here in the states by ESCI and I believe Italeri later took possession of their molds. Basic cockpit but overall a nice kit with good fits and recessed panel detail. I am not aware of availability of any aftermarket cockpit sets for this kit but possibly Eduard or Black Box sets designed for the Hasegawa kit may be used in it. Enjoy the build and happy modeling.

Thanks Bob! I'm looking forward to the build - still working on the basic cockpit setup now, but seems like it should be a pretty straight-forward & enjoyable processes. Thanks for watching 👍

I'm also doing the cold war birds GB with my Tamiya skyraider. Good luck with this kit! Italeri from the 70s looks pretty rough, so lets hope that we get another 48th sabre from Tamiya or Eduard sometime soon, because its such an iconic aircraft that haven't been given the attention it deserves from a lot of manufactures.
@SpruesNBrews3 жыл бұрын
Awesome! That's a great choice - I almost did a Skyraider myself! And agreed, a new Tamiya one would be great 👍

@@SpruesNBrews frankly, I don't it's that crazy to think Tamiya is going to release one soon, especially considering they just did the phantom, and seem to be putting out iconic aircraft that need more kits mad of them like the p-38

Nice video ! you just got a new subscriber ! Not bad for a rather dated Italeri kit. Those aftermarket decals look sweet. I use aftermarket decals quite often myself, especially on Academy kits, whose decals seem to be as thick as cardboard. LOL...anyway great job on the video, can't wait to see the build. 👍

I've been thinking about building this kit, but I want to paint it up as Robbie Risner's F-86E. Unfortunately, I can't find anyone who's printing a set of decals for that livery. Any suggestions?

So why is it, many plane models don't have the option to build with gear up?
@SpruesNBrews3 жыл бұрын
I think it's probably because most kits don't come with a stand to display a "wheels up" kit on. That said, it's usually a relatively easy scratch-build if you want to make the kit with the gear up & figure out some sort of stand 👍

When I built this kit one year ago the fit was not to great, not the worst I ever encountered, but unwelcome for the price range. (My skill level of the time was not great, so that may have impacted my experience) but I wouldn’t recommend unless you really like Cold War aircraft.
