I’ve just finished building this exact kit, I’m quite happy with how it turned out. It looks impressive hanging from the ceiling in my hobby room.

I've been debating between this one and the 1:18 FW-190 as to which will be the next build...

@@MDScaleModels oooooh a 190. Thats... that's a hard one. (That's what she said.) I mean, I'd like to see the Sabre myself. But I think you should fo the 190. That would be epic.

My guess is that these 1/18 kits are based on the moulds used for that wonderful 1/18 line of aircraft made by 21 century toys, already painted and assembled, back in the first decade of 2000, they made EVERYTHING.... p51, p47, p38, hellcat, avenger, corsair, zero, spitfire, helicopters, me 109, me262m fw190, stuka, mig 15, F 104, F 16, F 18 aaaaand the F 14..... they also made the sabre and then another sabre came up in another factory....Merit, they also did the Dauntless. The good thing about this plastic releases is obviously the level of detail that can be put in as well as paint jobs.! Thanks for the review !!

Looks like a re-box of the 21 Century toys product as you said. The screw points are in the came location on the fuselage.

It's the previous 21st Century Toys mold, they just slightly updated it, and turned it into a kit. I still must have one though.

@@MDScaleModels I remember seeing the 21st Century Toys, 1/18 scale, factory built, Mig 15 going for around $15.00 (U.S.) at Walmarts about 20 years ago. Wish I had bought one back then but at least I bought the factory-built F-86F as seen here.

This is a new release. All the older kits are estate sales or hunting for good deals on ebay over the years.

Yeh, but it looks more like a big toy than a model kit, for this size it should have much much more details and many parts. I have this model too, and I' m very desapointed with it.

It is... It was originally made as a toy but then they used the same molds to make it as a model and added some decals. Originally 21st Century toys...

I don't get it...There is absolutely NO excuse for a model of that scale to have panel lines that big and obvious....NONE ! I saw that the second you pulled it out. It was that glaring. I would never build it, because regardless of how good of a job you do, it's still just a toy that takes you waste countless hours to assemble.

I have the factory built, 21st Century, "toy" version I purchased at a Walmart about 15 years ago for $35.00 (at some Walmarts you could buy these 21st Century models for as little as $12.95). Anyway, it's still a very nice model hanging in my basement, and I have yet to have anyone say anything negative about it. People are impressed when you expose the 50 caliber machine guns on the side, dive brakes and landing gear. If I were you, I'd buy one already built as they're quite common in on-line sales. "Happy Landings!"
