Nice presentation and result! Some random thoughts: a) seems like a so-so kit based on your "filler needed" and "no plane decals" observations, or am I overreacting, b) did you end up playing / do you play the online game (I watch it on stream and youtube a lot), c) I don't know why it didn't occur to me until just now that a "hanger deck" on USS Enterprise corresponds to a "gun deck" on HMS Victory--- I'll attribute it to your inspirational editing : ) ty for posting!

Thank you ! A. Yeah it’s a old Trumpeter kit reboxed which for some had horrible fitting parts . B. Yeah i play the game a fair bit I play war thunder more though ! C. Yeah there’s a gun deck on it ! Thanks again .

I love the weathering. Not too much and not too little. I use Model Air paint, but I now need to paint Model Color. How to you thin it and to what ratio? I'll be using a 3mm needle.

Hi, thank you very much ! When I use model colour I use Vallejo thinner and I just add a few blobs of paint and just thin until it's right I don't really have a ratio !

That wasn't the Essex, it was a light escort carrier. The Essex was scrapped in Kearny, NJ in the early 70's.

He has information on international shipping on his "about" page. He asks that you'd e-mail him for details. I've met him at several model shows over here, he's a good guy. The decals are printed by Cartograf so they are top quality.

Watch Walker not sure, it depends on how confident you are in your modelling skills. As long as you take your time with I don't see why you couldn't have this as your first ship kit !

Great job, especially on such shabby kit. I have uss wisconsin made at around same time with same issues. Details are great for scale, but model requires vice and hammer to put together. On these Iowa's lower hull is 1mm wider and 3mm longer than upper, and there is sink in plastic along length of deck on upper hull. At least it seem you do not have those being 3 part instead 2.

Thank you ! Yeah it was a little annoying but the putty I use is really easy to clean up ! The decals were so delicate but to get them in to position you really had to move them around and they just ripped !

You did a great job, and I know it because I'm actually preparing a video with my CVN-77 USS George Bush in 1/700. The only problem is about Italeri brand itself, and the bad detail in some plastic parts or decals. I had to change a lot of things with the original kit because it was deliberately innacurate.

I figure if you build it again scrap the kit 40mm guns for aftermarket 40mm guns in Resin as those are a bit more accurate. And get the seperate Trumpeter aircraft sets that are molded in clear plastic so you can have clear canopies.

I've got the same model from years ago, i knew it wasn't 100% accurate, but it wasn't until i got the Dragon version of the same class i realised just how bad it was lol great work on your one though 😃😃😃

There is a mod in WOWS that removes the grey scale filter for unpurchased ships, you might find it useful!

Just set "Post processing" to off. This way you need no mods to see ships in full colour.

bob7608 I did but I primed with normal Vallejo black paint which wasn't the best idea I normally use Vallejo grey primer for ships and aircraft and black for tanks but for some reason I did this ship in black !

bob7608 I normally build the model and get all the filling and sanding done and then prime it and then paint with the main colours .

bob7608 I use acrylics through my airbrush . But enamels are a lot more durable and are great for paint brushing . If your airbrushing I would go for acrylics they are a lot easier to clean !

IJN Yamato that's not what the scale means Its 1inch/cm on the model equals 700 inches/cms on the real thing

While you did a tremendous job on the weathering, the lack of decals for the planes and the soft details on the superstructure really sell this kit short.

Scale Modelling 76 Twenty four I think? The enormous US industrial capability coupled with a large robust design like this is what won them the Pacific war. The Americans also used to churn out an Escort Carrier every week...
