Every day I get so many emails and comments asking why you can’t locate the music I use or find it using Shazam. I purchase music licenses for almost all the music you hear in my videos. I buy them them from various royalty-free production music sites and most of the time they don’t list the performer because it’s music made only for film productions with an audio watermark throughout the entire track, unless you purchase the single-use license for $50-100 per track. I use a lot of opera so often I’ll reference the opera but I won’t be able to direct you to a recording of that specific performance that you could stream or buy on iTunes or Spotify. Hope that clears things up and thank you for appreciating quality music.

I just had my 65th birthday. I as well learned Italian as a child, simply by listening. I never learned to read or write, Italian was not a first or second language in my house, My Nonni wanted to learn English and speak English, but of course they spoke Italian amongst themselves. WOW! 40 years ago I lived in Italy for a few years and albeit I had a few dictionaries etc the very BEST book I bought was the 501 Italian verbs book. I still refer to it now. It was such a good help back in the day. Xxx

Thank you for your interesting lesson. I love the old movies! I agree as one learns a language to let the words and phrases roll around in ones head, listen to them and repeat them. I think that learning a language can be very similar to a young baby/ toddler learning to speak. They too just listen and try words and repeat words. I was very challenged as when I moved to my new home years ago, I had to learn two languages at the same time, the official language which is written but not spoken and the dialect which is quite different. I was very hard to learn to be proficient in both. Wishing you a wonderful week!

I love learning Italian so much, going on my 3rd year and still have difficulty watching anything in Italian. I found a great Italian series that helped me get an immersion for a while. It's very entertaining which is difficult to find here in the USA. Il Paradiso delle Signore

Being immensely topical and of genuine concern, I watched and saw Iranians through your eyes. It fitted with a military analysis I read this week that said Iran is changing, and should they want an all-out war with anyone, they could have more trouble at home than abroad The people have changed.

I like your suggestion of finding hooks from a language to help with remembering vocabulary. I use this technique a lot but because I also speak French I use hooks from French. There are a lot more of them from French. So if you already know another Romance language you can try it. I’m sure a lot of people have studied either French or Spanish before. As to your example, French has the word “fidèle” which makes “fedele” easier to understand.

Guardare i film classici italiani è certamente utile, specialmente per quanto riguarda le strutture grammaticali ed il lessico. Attenzione però perché ormai certe locuzioni e certe parole non esistono più nell’Italiano moderno oppure sono state modificate come per esempio “Giuoco” che oggi è diventato “Gioco”. Un piccolo consiglio su un film da vedere, specie per te kylie è “La Grande Guerra” di Monicelli. Che vanta come attori Vittorio Gassman e Alberto Sordi. Sebbene in realtà si parli spesso in dialetto, scommetto ti piacerebbe comunque molto e soprattutto impareresti una parte molto importante di storia, storia che è ormai diventata anche la tua, dato che ormai sei italiana!🤗

Kylie, I had learned Italian along with English as a child only till I was 3 years old. We moved away from my Italian relatives and didn’t hear Italian after that. I think that I could speak in your country because Español- Espanola. 2 different languages with almost the same, but very different accents of words. I can say that I would understand it when spoken to me but Italian would laugh at me ... I can speak great Español but here in Texas it is called tex -Mex because we made our on Mix language. Spanish was my first language but English is the most used. Who knew . Esta la promixima.

Salve Kylie, spero che Lei stia bene. Ho una domanda: non sono sicuro dell’ultima frase nella pellicola quando la signorina dice: “Perchè non sa voler bene.” Per come la vedo, lei non dice: Because he does not know how to love. Ma, al contrario, lei sta dicendolo una cosa più serio, più speciale perchè sta dicendo non che lui non sa come volere, ma che non sa voler BENE”. This last word, "bene", is significant because it means that she is saying not that he does not know how to love, and therefore whatever feelings he has are not from love in her opinion, instead she is saying that he does not know how to love well, so she admits that it is love, but not the best or most ideal kind in her estimation/perspective/opinion. I got sidetracked by trying to find the filming location. Haha When it comes to Italian films, I have primarily seen gialli. But most of those don’t showcase Italy. I’ve also seen “Marriage Italian Style” and “A Special Day.” I love the latter. Such an excellent film. Thank you again for responding.

Agh....gets a bit too overwhelming. I've been studying Italian over 25 years, and I feel I will never become advanced. Some people's minds just take to a language easier, and others will always struggle, based on how our brains process things. Living in the country and being fully absorbed, especially having a relationship with a native speaker, of course the understanding just becomes so intuitive and absorbed. Watching film IS a great way to learn, but it remains a perpetual challenge and source of frustration that I never feel I can crack the wall. I guess if you just learn one thing a day, that's great...but trying not to feel frustrated when I hit the wall.

Hun, 6 minutes in and I'm like yesss getting comfy for this one! Haha I do that too .... I learnt the word for scarpe from the word scuff as in scuff on a shoe. So the hard sound for scuff helps me remembering the hard sound for scarpe and not sciarpe which is scarf. rinunciare similar to renounce or give up in English. Italian does use a higher register of English words more that what we would use daily unless your well spoken 😅 Love these lessons with you, wish you could do a lesson a week for us viewer's via zoom or something haha also I have a question, how do you refrain from using standard verbs or recall verbs and start to learn new verbs that have a higher register but mean the same thing or slight change in meaning but not so far off. Potere and Riuscire for example. Obv learning new tenses will help reinforce the known verbs but I was curious as to your ideas of learning new verbs so you add to your tool box 😅 Speaking of driving how is your lessons going?
