I was 100% expecting a straightforward video on idioms (I know, how dared I underestimate Kylie?!) and was SO pleasantly surprised by this warm, beautiful instructional video full of welcoming energy that really transports you to one of those personal connections. I found myself trying to explain your videos the other day and I butchered it because I could not even begin to explain the energy and emotion your videos provoke in me. Eventually I just stopped trying, sent them a link "Just watch it. You'll understand what I mean"

I have been going on holiday to Italy every year since I was 5 years old but i still don't speak italian! I understand a lot, but I never actually learnt the language. It is my all time dream to learn it, maybe next year I will have time because I have passed my french language exam. This video was very nice, I just came home from spending due settimane a Napoli, Roma, Costiera Amalfitana... and it was very lovely to experience authentic Italy just because my parents spoke Italian to the locals. It really opens up masaive boundaries it's incredible! Please make more italian videos, I would love to see and learn more!!!

Hi Kylie! Yet another great video !!! Frankly spoken, I had stumbled upon your channel just 2 days ago by pure coincidence as I was looking for some travel inspirations. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised and blown away when I watched first your series of "Hiking the Dolomites, Part 1-3". Strangely and surprisingly after watching these, I was so hooked that I have watched by now nearly all of your videos...So che sono un po 'pazzo ! ... LOL ...and of course subscribed. Initially, I could not figure out what actually attracted me watching your videos... "ovviamente sei una donna molto bella "....however it was actually your sincere and amazing personality that struck me. I realized that your videos are so refreshingly different from the many others out there. They are special, passionate, artistic and have that very unique personal touch. It is like a collection of little artistic masterpieces ! Watching your videos about Italy and the Provence "cooking series" has brought back beautiful memories (spent quite some time living in Bella Italia and the Provence) and I would to thank you very much for that ! Please keep on producing more content and remember NEVER give up on your dreams ! You are very special and an amazing person ! BTW, with your talent, have you ever considered providing photography and/or video/film-making courses ? Cheers, Mike

Planning an extended visit, what ever visa will allow. After my artist residency in Venice was cancelled for 2020, when we do get to resume the program, hopefully April 2022, I plan to make it an extended stay. After all we have experienced through Covid, once travel abroad is possible, it just feels right to make it a good long trip. I look forward to more Italian language lessons. Grazie from Canada.

People usually are a bit when one speaks more than one language. Kylie said if one is not a mother speaker, one is never as fluent as them. This is true.
@Parso773 жыл бұрын
There’s a lot of comment here about “not really fluent” - I would actually use the term “natively proficient”. You will never speak Italian like a native if you weren’t born and brought up there, but fluency is a reasonable objective and of course you can always get better (as you can in your native language). So I would say you are obviously fluent. You also raise an interesting point about “cadence”. Every language has its own rhythm and its own character. Italian is syllable timed (so stressed syllables are the same length as other syllables, unlike in Germanic languages such as English) and pronounced further forward in the mouth (as is typical of Southern Europe versus Northern). English-speaking learners are never taught this, so invariably end up sounding blatantly Anglo-Saxon even if their Italian is technically quite proficient. I find this yet another aspect of language teaching which fails abjectly - much better to be self-taught like you are!
