Imagine having to deal with power outages while you’re carrying a hot pizza out the oven. Also I’m South Korean but it’s crazy how I can only understand like 20% of what they’re saying, it almost sounds like a completely different language at certain points
@DouaisienLOSC11 ай бұрын
Can you please tell us more about the difference in how they speak the language? Is it their accents or is the grammar and vocab so different? I've always been curious how different Korean is in North Korea from how it is spoken in South Korea.
@SpikoDreams10 ай бұрын
@@DouaisienLOSCOne difference is that South Koreans may use slang when speaking while such is avoided by North Koreans.
@mimiyo2999 ай бұрын
you are still colonized by america. Sad
@dathunderman48 ай бұрын
@@DouaisienLOSC I noticed North Koreans have a tendency to raise the tone at the end of their sentences even for declarative statements. As far as the differences im talking about tho in the way of speaking it’s kinda hard to explain because it almost sounds like a completely different language at times to my ear. It’d be like trying to explain the difference b/w Korean and Russian or something, like they sound so different idk how to even compare. Like at 9:55 I have literally no idea what the lady cutting the pizza is saying, and it sounds like a completely different language to me. It might just be pronunciation because I can understand better when they speak to foreigners since they purposely talk more slowly, but then at times (like with that example I just referred to) I can’t even recognize a single word. I can also add that the intonation is certainly much different, a lot more dips and rises whereas South Korean (at least Seoul aka the “default” dialect) is relatively flat. But the rises and dips in intonation I hear in North Korean is noticeably different than Japanese, which is actually quite similar to the Southern region of South Korea dialect (Gyeongsangnam-do). But In any type of Korean dialect I can still recognize that they’re speaking Korean and get at least the gist of what they’re saying if I listen closely, but in this video (and other videos I’ve seen of North Koreans speaking normally) I wouldn’t even recognize it as Korean for a lot of parts if someone just played the sound and didn’t provide any context.
@dathunderman48 ай бұрын
@@SpikoDreams another difference is south Korean uses a lot of English filler words; like there are no korean words for “juice” or “coffee,” you just say the English words in a Korean accent. But North Korean has actual Korean words for a lot of these terms, like their word for “juice” basically translates to “fruit water” in Korean. But these aren’t the differences I was referring to in my comment. It’s the way of speaking that sounds so wildly different at times, to my ear at least. I can definitely understand better when they speak to foreigners tho since they intentionally speak much more slowly.

no wonder North korea don't make cosmetic ads, their woman are just naturally beautiful
@tyleroakley73087 жыл бұрын
Kyle Links Why are you so obsessed about the women? Can't you just watch the video for what it is. Anyway, North Koreans don't have it good over there. I don't know why are you infatuating with a closed society like this. Also stop with the negative stereotype that South Korean girls use cosmetic surgery. Doesn't mean having or not having cosmetic surgery is any better. It's a matter of personal choice.

Those shoes they are wearing are not conducive to working in a pizza shop. These poor ladies are just props, like all the empty buildings in the city.

Yeah because all work uniforms, especially in public service, are made to be practical and comfortable. Like flight attendants forced to wear heels all day on a plane, and office wear in general.

@@annie_xoin another comment, you're making concern about their shoes as well. And fact is, a lot of the buildings in Pyongyang are props. That's been well documented over the history of the nation.
