My local supermarket has more Italian sausage than any other kind. Whether it has fennel in it is another thing entirely. Going to give this a go though, since beans and sausage are two of my favorite things (partly because they're cheap).

Sorry Keef, couldn't help but mention I had reason to view another of your "Floyd" recipies (liver dumplings/Floyd on France). The first time I watched that I failed to pick up on you saying that Mrs. KC came across this during an attempt to watch videos to polish up her French before going on holiday to France. I was amused by this as, I believe, the only French that is used in that video appears to be Floyd saying, "Chef! Ju suis dans la merde!" - I hope Mrs KC didn't have occasion to invoke that expression on her holiday! Also, I once bemoaned to an American colleague the lack of availability of Italian sausage in the U.K.- the Americans seem to have a lot of recipes involving this, and she suggested just adding Italian seasoning to a standard pork sausage. I've found Italian-style herb blend in a certain supermarket, name beginning "S" which isn't "Safe", so thought this may be a quicker fix than your DIY solution. Thanks for both videos!

PS: when I ate this in Italy last year, it was served in a round bowl, and the polenta was more liquid and with cheese, I think they used some sort of divider plate to get the stew and polenta into the bowl in equall proportions, so it looked really nice once served.

PS: Where did you find the polenta in Lidl? What other products was it grouped with?
