Wow, this chef is quite a character. You did this without a bodyguard? LOL. I've never heard of cooking the pasta in the sauce. I always cook it in salted water then finish it in the sauce. One day when we meet ( ya right ) let's cook together. I just love cooking with people!

Maybe subtitles (in english) is easier then translating on the spot, you know? it'll avoid interruptions and a smoother flow between the conversation! I know you did it for some sentences when he or you spoke italian but perhaps subtitles all throughout! Oh boy..I'm not sure I explained that clearly... any way.. hahaha Much love to you!!!

Norell Campos thank you! I'm like you and I love subtitles but I try to do a mix of both because there are a lot of people who get tired of reading. Some TV networks won't even accept subtitles because they say their viewers' attention decreases when they have to take in the action and text at the same time. I like to give people a little bit of both. 🤓😉

Kylie, I like when you and your guests speak Italian. Yes, subtitles could be a distraction for some people, but I think is a risk to be considered because the flow and good vibe in the dialogue - i.e. this video - would benefit by utilizing that strategy. I think Moscow is wonderful and people often fail to see this because they associate Russia with bad politics and silly stereotypes. Indeed it's a country with lots of problems and it's true that the people can be difficult to deal with. In my experience, they seem cold at first but once you get to know them they thaw like ice! (no pun intended)

When I first came to Moscow I felt so alone and had no friends. I was working as a translator at the time and one day after work I saw a group of poets performing on the street. I'm a literature student and a writer which might be what made me want to come up to them! Suddenly we're up all night talking about Dostoevsky! The next day we're drinking wine and champagne by a lakeside and reciting poetry at 3am! This was last summer and these people are still my best friends. This is the kind of wonderful stuff that can happen to you even in a cold and intimidating place like Russia! You find artists, musicians, lovers and you share all your dreams and passions! Suddenly these strangers become family. Its amazing!

At the time my Russian was still quite poor and I didn't even fully understand the poems, but they recited them with such passion that I was totally entranced. Especially with this one guy who is now my best friend! He is the one that made me stop in the middle of the street. I knew I had to talk to him. I think we're both a little in love with each other. It was his birthday not long ago and we kissed! He said it felt like being hit by sunlight. The other day we were sitting on his windowsill drinking tea, smoking and watching the snow fall. He started reciting a monologue from one of my favourite plays! Sometimes life feels so romantic, like living in a film!
