Yeah, the Magic Legends one hurt. It had a decent idea behind it, but for some reason wanted to have as little to do with Magic as possible - i.e. not using the massive library of awesome art assets, spell names and general feel that Magic has built in. I liked the game, even, but I can see, why it went nowhere fast.

Cohh is so high regarding the starfield take. Every bethesda game has been bug ridden, and fallout 76 is still fresh in my mind, being the lastest big release from them.

Fallout 4, being the main studio's last release, was relatively solid on launch. Think the consoles had some problems, but that was resource related rather than bugs.

Given not even a single person mentioned it during the show, I'd also like to give a shoutout to Hitman 3. Granted I'm a sucker for the series, and whilst it might not have been the best, I still think it was a brilliant entry in the series, but I can see why most people either skipped it, or weren't too fussed about it.

Where did the idea of multiplayer meaning more than 2 players come from? It's always been for anything with more than 1 player. There's been plenty of amazing co-op games, fighting games and more throughout the years have had 2 players max and they've always been called multiplayer. We have used terms like Multiplayer versus and multiplayer co-op though to differentiate between the 2 different styles of multiplayer.

1:50:14 Final Fantasy 14 would actually make sense for Redemption of the Year, not that it wasn't redeemed already, but going from a game so bad they had to apologize and remake it to now have overtaken WOW as the go to MMO, if people could buy it, is quite a redemption arc.

Surprised the endwalker wasn't on cohh's list. I understand its an expansion etc etc, but its an incredible standalone game.in its own right. In fact id put it ahead of almost all, if not all the standalone rpg's out this year. 40+ hours just for the main scenario. More content than a fully stand alone game.

The rules for them are only full 1.0 releases, no early access, no AddOns/DLCs. JP always breaks the rules with FF XIV because it is their show anyway, so who cares. But Cohh is really strict with that in his lists. Furthermore, I would completely disagree with it being a standalone game. If you only play Endwalker, the main story would completely go over your head. It only works because of the 250+ hours before that build up to this finale.

I played Titanfall ,Apex legends for thousands of hours and Halo Infinite for about 50 and Halo is definitely better grappling.

Kind of sad to not see Monster Hunter Rise mentioned in any way. And even more sad that Cohh is thinking about completely skipping it too, because he says in another stream "It looks like a switch game." Coming from the dude that played Astral Chain and Fire Emblem: Three Houses, I'm very confused by that comment. I would have assumed that Cohh and JP playing through Monster Hunter World was proof enough that the gameplay and gameplay loop is what is so enjoyable about the series. But whatever...MH: Rise is definitely in my top 5 this year and I cant wait to play through it all over again on PC in 10 days, and I absolutely can't wait for the Sunbreak expansion.

Cohh was also very hesitant about both Astral Chain and Fire Emblem: Three Houses if I recall. It is just not his style, but gameplay can win him over, so I agree it is kind of weird with Rise.

@@Elidan1012 Yeah that's my point...it's weird. Now that I recall, he made that comment about Rise in his game awards recap video. Saying it "looks like a Switch game" can mean 2 things. That it looks bad graphically, which I dont think Cohh is that shallow minded when it comes to judging games, so I dont think it's that. Or he means that the game itself is lacking. But that doesnt make sense either because he's played World, and the Rise demo. He knows what to expect. It's all in the gameplay. Too bad. Was excited to see him play it and sunbreak.

Yeah Cohh can be weird with his reasons for not playing games, I've noticed. Like, ok you think it looks bad? Just play it on your high end pc, you'll be fine. It wasn't like Valheim or Loop hero looked high end either, but gameplay won him over there (I know they're both indie games, and I don't have a problem with how they look). He's played World, he knows MH is fun.

@@LordlyWeeb It probably boils down to that there's something about Rise that doesnt give him the urge to want to play it, but he doesnt know why, because he hasnt given it much thought. Saying that it looked like a switch game was probably something that popped into his head, and he just went with it because he honestly doesnt care to spend time pondering over the real reason.

I'm glad tales of arise made it on the list. ngl, the amount of endwalker sickened me to no end, but that's largely due to my personal dislike of the game, not because it's bad, or didn't deserve it. by all accounts, it's an amazing xpac. But as someone who went into ff14 wanting an mmo, and 200 hours later, still looking for anything resembling an mmo, I dropped the game mid stormblood. That would be my most disappointing moment of the year. FF14 as a whole.

I don't really understand what you mean. The story is a big focus, yeah. But you're still talking to and interacting with people, and doing dungeons and raids with them. Sounds like an MMO to me

I mean in the middle of stormblood you have two raid series and bunch of "MMO" experiences you can do. If you only want to do current endgame stuff you have to boost like any other MMO. What's not MMO about the game to you?

If you think that they are the only S tier games then you have an extremely limited viewpoint or purposefully write off games not in your wheelhouse. Off the top of my head: Bloodborne/Hades/MGS2 and 3/SMB3/TH:PS 2 and 3/Super Mario Galaxy/Castlevania SOTN and AOS. All of those are critically S tier games.
