It's been a long time. Lately I've been busy as fuck and had to stop watching RollPlay, because of it. But this, this I just can't miss. It's too late to catch up on Swansong or Mirrorshades, but R&D is still my favourite series and seeing it come back is enough to get me hooked again.

George K. Why do you even want to catch up? Catching up is lame and boring and means you have to wait for new episodes. Just watch the Swan Song and Mirrorshades backlog, they're both awesome (I don't doubt this will be equally awesome though). :p

Something else worth checking out if you're interested in this period is Bernard Cornwell's Saxon Chronicles (first book is called The Last Kingdom). Don't be put off by the name "Saxon" - it's about a young Saxon boy who is adopted and raised by Danes (i.e. Vikings) when they invade England in the 800s. Seriously so good, I'd recommend them to anyone interested in this time period.

A viking settlement has been discovered near the Hudson River dating from the 9th Century. Apparently it was a settlement for 30 to 100 individuals. It is interesting to see all the artifacts that they have recovered from the site.

Atgeir, or Hewing Spear, could literally just be a broad bladed spear, but was more often a very long but thin axe blade, and while a Seax could get pretty long, they were closer to knives in construction than a proper viking style sword.

***** Dead of Winter sounds like a Battlestar Galatica (the boardgame) reskin/clone. Betrayer is just a Cylon. Goal is to keep jumping and fighting off the Cylon ship chasing you, and there's all this combat and skill checks to deal with random events and x y z. Without having played Dead of Winter I'm still positive its got all the same elements.

Sir Dude It's a manga pretty much about vikings. The first part focuses on a kid who is a member of a viking mercenary crew....but the second part has a lot of farming and slows down considerably. A ton of people got pissed at the series because they say it got boring (no more epic viking battles).
