Looking back on wbr season ducati then comparing it to this, chase you need to keep involving brain. Not only are the episodes less frustrating to watch, but more works getting done and your camera angles and camera work are so much better and it makes the series alot more enjoyable. Plus your haveing a really good time doing this compared to the "forever alone" look you had working alone on the ducati. Working on bikes is fun. Working on bikes with a friend is better.

@tomorrowtoday48396 жыл бұрын
Congrats!! Brian seemed in particularly good spirits in this episode, likely because of the great sense of accomplishment associated with starting up a bike after a long project. I mix sound, and that sounds like peaking distortion. It also looks like the mic was aimed away from him, which makes it difficult, even for an omnidirectional mic. But appreciate you pushing to better and higher quality production!

Also you don't wanna break a watch or engagement ring. Love your work brother! Keep Brain(aka Brian) by your side! You'll learn tons of things! Cheers from Spain! ;)
@Scoottoots6 жыл бұрын
Great series. Great episode. But just FYI, Motul 300V synth oil has an additive package that breaks down quickly. It should not be used in street bikes unless you change the oil every 2000 km's. Motul 7100 that Brian mentioned, is the same ester-based synthetic, but with an additive package suited for street riding, with oil change intervals that match the bike's manual. Motul 300V is for racing use, regardless of what the motorcycle stores and service depots tell you. I got this info directly from two separate Motul Techs (not sales people). Also, I love Brian's involvement. He is awesome. His info on switching from synthetic to mineral oil is incorrect though. You can freely switch one to the other. No worries at all. The only caveat is, you cannot mix Motul V300 synthetic with a mineral based oil. So if you were running V300, you need to be thorough about draining it before switching to mineral oil. A small amount left in the system is no problem, but don't top up with mineral oil if you're using V300.

Damn... just recently discovered the series and i'm hooked!!! I at first thought i was going to learn a lot new things from you (Chase) but i quickly understood you don't know what you are doing, just like me :). I love the evolution Brian has made from being a little awkward being filmed all the time in his first episode, to just forgetting that there are cameras present and being his hilarius self. I would love to win the bike, unfortunatly i'm not from one of the 48 continental state and the time difference wouldn't allow me too participate in the live episodes :(.
@Vernon2406 жыл бұрын
Great show, but had to comment on the oil! The notion that you can't go from synthetic oil to mineral is untrue. You can go back and forth if you so desire. There are also semi synthetic oils which are a blend of synthetic and mineral oils, so to say they don't mix is also untrue.
@TheGarnerjustin736 жыл бұрын
Thank you, i get so sick of hearing these oil myth's. What do people think a synthetic blend is, its synthetic and mineral.
@Vernon2406 жыл бұрын
Yep, to be honest, I'd never heard that particular myth. Respect to Brian rebuilding the bike, but on that point, just plain wrong.
@dustyn6.76 жыл бұрын
Currently going to mmi and true synthetic and mineral came be mixed back and forth. The "once you go synthetic you can't go back to mineral" is a completely wrong. Sorry Brian, I respect your knowledge but you are incorrect.
@SGTJDerek5 жыл бұрын
When Synthetic oil first came out, they, meaning the oil companies, said it themselves. It has since been debunked if you will. But some people still believe it's a big no no. However, IF you are still driving anything with a flat tappet cam, it is imperative that you use a zinc additive unless you are using Diesel Oil. Rotella is the only oil I know of that has zinc still. Don't think they've looked at Synthetic's wear Characteristics yet on a flat tappet cam.

You can avoid the audio trouble by placing the mic in the center of the chest and not off to the side. Note that when Brian turns to the side with the mic it gets overdriven and when he looks away it is too quiet. Try placing it right below his beard approximately at his hoodie zipper and you can avoid the volume changes and having to compensate for when he turns his head away to the right. 30 years of mixing people with lav mics has taught me that placement is 90% of the battle.
