"Its Uncensored" There's Never Been a Better Episode of Re Zero to Date

Re:Zero Starting Life in Another World Season 3 Episode 2 is next to perfect as perfect can be. The staff at Studio White Fox, went above and beyond for the content displayed in today's episode. The new opening for S3 is visually stunning and feels very in line with what Season 3 will be mostly about... the fights / battles. We saw both sides, the heroes vs the villains. As for the Ending Song, it was symbolic as per usual when it comes to Re Zero content in the anime. Even Reinhard got time to shine and proved he wasn't the perfect Master Swordsman we thought he was.

I REALLY love how Beatrice and Emilia doesn’t question Subaru even for a second on whether what he says is true. Subaru won their absolute trust so much so that Emilia sent an overkill pre-shot attack on Sirius before even seeing her properly. Immediate death sentence because Subaru said that she was there, she’s from the cult of the witch and she will kill everyone on the public place. They don’t even ask him why he knows it, anyways they probably suspect he has some special secret ability at this point. This trust however is so wholesome considering Subaru deserves it. ♥️♥️♥️

By this point they have to have picked up on Subaru suddenly becoming unsettled right before giving an odd order is a sign of trouble. I think they suspect that he somehow gets premonitions that distress him or something which explains how he has this information. He is very easy to read after RBD, as probably anyone would be.

Just a small correction, The White Rabbits is still his worst death, not one of, but definitely his worst death according to Subaru and literally any reasonable analysis of deaths on any measure (Be it pain, trauma, mental, creativity, etc). If not for the Witch of Greed, the story would have ended with a broken Subaru, mentally. This one definitely was edgy though, but vs having your tongue, eyeball and inners literally eaten while you scream in silence, there really isn't much a contest.

there's argument to be made that subaru died from fear in this episode. fear created by a feedback loop from lusbel that went back and forth, multiplying over and over again. I think if he actually did die from fear, it would probably be one of his most terrifying deaths yet, pain is one thing, but I couldn't imagine feeling that kind of unimaginable fear or anxiety. fear that was likely worse than anything satella did to him

Sad thing is, having a studio remain consistent with an anime throughout its whole run is even a lot to ask for now for some reason. Look at Uzumaki, One Punch Man, Promised Neverland, 7 Deadly Sins, etc. I hope Re:Zero remains godly throughout its whole run. The only completed anime I’ve seen that has a perfect adaptation of its manga in my opinion is Kuroko No Basket.

I think The Promised Neverland was just Cloverworks screwing it up intentionally, since the animation studios receive pennies from the entire revenue generated by an anime, and the manga had been concluded by that point anyway, so might as well fuck the entire production committee over and ruin whatever prospects were left for season 3 and beyond.

Those are troublesome" Apprehensively said Reinhard, whilst effortlessly deflecting them with nothing but BARE HANDS 😅 In all seriousness, I praise Tappei for cleverly taking care of establishing right away and tackling the most intuitive question people will ask themselves as the loop starts: why not call Reinhard? And in doing so, establishing why Reinhard won't be able to fill the Deus Ex Machina, but also without ruling him out of the conflict entirely. This is how Gojo should've been written. For those who say there was no better solution than him disappearing for more than half of the story, here it is: Tappei dodged that writing trap very quickly. I feel guilty for chuckling at Subaru's face in the transition from the first retry to the second one, cuz it was so abrupt and so short that it looked like an abridged scene 😂. But I'm shocked. Not only it was brutal, but also so quick. I think this was by far the worst retry yet, he beat his Speedrun record 😅. I'm really feeling the same vibes from the 1st time I watched Re:Zero due to just how violent and brutal the loops are now. I felt as shocked as when Elsa first met him or when Rem and Ram did him.

I really like that the author really tried hard to tackle the Reinhardt OP issue, because like you said its the first thing that comes to mind, to summon Reinhardt. I see the intention the author had, to show that while Reinhardt is strong he can't solve everything, it makes me respect Tappei. However at least in this case there are plot conveniences/holes, were Reinhardt could solve the problem if Suburu just talked out with him. Instead of immedieatly assuming that Reinhardt is useless, maybe just tell him not to kill her in the vicinity of other people, problem solved. It's a common issue where authors make in universe characters too naive or stupid, when the average bloke could come up with a solution. I am anime only, so maybe that ends up being the solution

@@assarlannerborn9342 I also thought about just subdueing Sirius instead of killing her but not until I have time to think it through, you have to remember he has done it 3 times so far in s3 ep2 and does not really have much time to think through in between and only use the solutions he came up on the spot due to the time constraint he has in this death loop. So I do see him doing that solution along the line but then again each and everyone think differently, just like in a psychology test in what you see first in a picture.

yep removeing the one punch man factor in the first 12 minutes is really good. the comparasion i use. Is in rimworld I have a charcotr in my coloney who has 40 melee. that is god level melee. That is I can grab a mech and rip it appart with my hands level. However that is his ONLY skill. he has no medical, can not speak, can not craft, low intelligence so no ability to provide research. Has the psychopathy trait, thus has zero emotion or social. Thus he can not be used for Charisma checks while tradeing or converting other people to be playable. He can ONLY punch. thus he is useless in every other situation.

The author does a good job at making Reinhart op because from a technical standpoint Subaru's knowledge is what wins these battles and Reinhart being a hero at heart will find it difficult due to the crossfire. Subaru could survive but I'd bet he would rather restart than make Reinhart go through all of that.

It's not really that Subaru took all the credit because Rem got devoured. The White Whale was a group effort. The one dealing the decisive blow was Wilhelm. Sloth was also taken down as a group effort. Most notably when Julius and Subaru were tag teaming him. The reason he is credited with the victory is because he is viewed as the one without whom the entire shebang could never have happened.

Subaru was supposed to encounter Sirus talking to little timmy in the tower and he uses his whip to drop kick her out of the tower, after first giving us some backstory on how he tried to tell Beako over the past year of his ability. The name of his whip, what it is made of, why he chose to use a whip. All of that was cut.

Such a great way to let the audience organically know that X or Y character has insanely high intelligence or perception without having other character mention it or having to lore dump a character sheet on us.
