the way that man talked to victoria was incredibly disrespectful to a woman you’ve invited into your home to help your dogs… all because of some vindictiveness he has over a foster dog that he ultimately has responsibility for. that poor dog has been rescued from a horrible life and shunning the defenseless animal to make a point is cruel.
@Alice-xy3fi6 ай бұрын
Do you feel the woman was right to keep bringing dogs home, let alone expecting her partner to be responsible for them, when she knew he did not want any more dogs? Would it be okay with you if your partner adopted or fostered a child (and then another, and then another) each time without any regard for your wants, needs and feelings? And if you were angry, even furious, and hurt, and felt disrespected by that, what would you do about it? Would you feel they your partner was right in expecting you to do half the work of raising those children? Supporting them? Giving up going out with your friends to stay home and babysit? Take a second job to give them the material things your partner wanted from them? At what point would you draw the line...and if you refused to, e.g., take that second job, do you believe that would be an expression of vindictiveness on your part? p.s. I don't recall his having said anything that seemed to me at all disrespectful to Victoria, let alone "extremely" so. My take on it was that he was merely expressing the fact that he was frustrated with his partner, and was presenting his point of view on his situation-- emphatically and without dishonestly folding/kowtowing to Victoria, but with no disrespect.
@Aalya135 ай бұрын
@@Alice-xy3fi maybe their communication was off but Victoria did nothing wrong! For him to speak to her like that is incredibly rude and disrespectful. He invited her into their home to help them train the dog, so for him to treat her like that is incredibly cruel. She was right to walk out!

It's wrong to starve a animal but he should not be forced to foster a animal against his will. his wife should of talked about it with her husband instead of bringing in a foster animal without telling him she should have asked him first . Even though he does not want to foster a animal he should still feed the foster animal like all animals he has in the household. If 1 person in the household does not want to foster any animals, then she should respect his or her decision. have the person that does foster animals have most of the responsibility and ask the person that does not want to foster to at least feed the foster animal and help with meds . Although i think this is right, i can only agree partly. When you’re in a committed relationship, you share responsibilities. Your partner is doing what he should do… yes it’s extremely nice and helpful but it’s his job to be nice and helpful to you. I wouldn’t get a pet against my partners wishes either, but even if i did i would expect him to help me if i absolutely needed help. That’s part of being in a relationship…. Being able to depend on your partner for help shouldn’t be situational.

@@kinley.-. On the other hand, if you're in a committed relationship you should respect your partner's boundaries. Pets are a HUGE amount of responsibility, and if someone does not want it, then it is plain wrong to force them into it. Not to mention that unwanted responsibilities can build up into resentment towards you or the pet (something that did kinda happen here as well), or loss of trust after clearly disregarding his explicit wishes. He has a right to put his foot down. She wanted that amount of dogs, so she should do most of the work! It's perfectly simple. Victoria's rant about the fact that it's a puppy mill dog, has health issues, and she's seen the worst etc has NOTHING to do with it!
@saddlerrye67255 ай бұрын
I understand Victoria's point of view as well - it's really unfair to the dog that he's not treated as nicely as the others just because of the wife's decision. Of course the whole situation is unfair to the husband. You should never push the responsibility of a pet on someone who doesn't want it. The person who needed the scolding was the wife, honestly. He put the husband into a lose-lose situation and ended up indirectly contributing to the mistreatment of the puppy.

The US version of ""It's me or the dog" is soo much different from the British version, and not in a positive way. Whereas the UK version is about dogs and their issues, the US version is about broken relationships. The people in the US version are mostly extreme acting in a bizzare manner whereas the people in the UK version are generally friendly people recognizing their mistakes and eager to learn. I don't know if that is due to the scripting of the US version to appeal to a more soap-opera saturated audience, or whether people with dogs in the US are so much more insane than Britons generally are. Whatever the reasons, I just can't make it through this series.

Force him to take up additional responsibility that he distinctly did not want, but she just ignored him. And, she sometimes travel, so he has them all alone. Why the surprise that he's resentful? It's like deliberately becoming pregnant after your boyfriend said he didn't want the responsibility of another totally dependent being because the four you already have is overwhelming, but they're here already. And, he's right. If he's not prepared to take care of even more, why reward Deena bringing additional furbabies into the picture. Plus, she's a nag.
@Alice-xy3fi6 ай бұрын
i was about to use that same analogy in responding to Luffy's comment, but then I realized, what this woman did is actually worse than saying "Who cares that you don't want to be a father yet/ever; I do, so I'm getting pregnant and screw you (no pun intended)." The reason I think it's worse, at least in one way, is that in the pregnancy analogy, he at least has SOME control-- after she does it the first time, say, he can refuse to have intercourse so as to avoid becoming a father again. And not only does he then have control, but at least then she presumably is also experiencing some consequences for her horrible selfishness and disrespect toward him, instead of her doing whatever the hell she wants and all the consequences falling on him. I love dogs as much as the next person, and I love people, too...and if my boyfriend started "fostering" homeless people or other needful humans in the teeth of my having made clear I didn't want to share my home with strangers, I'd be pissed. If he then insisted I cook for them, do their laundry, take them to the doctor and give them their medicine, I'd think he was nuts. And if Victoria came in and told me off in that morally superior way (I LOVE Victoria, and this is the first time I've ever disagreed with her, but I do, love or no love), and totally took my side with a token nod to my boyfriend's being "over controlling" in the he was supervising this stuff that I was doing for these people in my home who I had repeatedly made clear I did NOT want there, I'd think she was nuts. I think that man deserves a medal for taking care of the dogs as much as he did, and not only that-- did anyone notice, let alone comment on, how tenderly he touched he cared for them, when he was caring them, as shown in the show before V. even mentioned that woman's control issues (totally ignoring the woman's issues of selfishness and disregard of her parner's feelings, and her living her life, at least when it came to the dogs, as if the man didn't exist (exept as the hired help to care for the dogs)? Sorry, I got carried away. This really got to me, as might possibly be a teensy bit evident from my ranting. I guess that woman is not the only one with control issues, lol...only mine are the opposite of hers.
@coolbreeze45765 ай бұрын
@Alice-xy3fi you didn't get carried away. You did a thorough analysis, just like, if both people were weighing the pros and cons. She's fine with meeting her need for affection by being needed by pets. What about his need for intimacy. He's feeling isolated and unloved. I totally agree with you. Maybe Victoria's producer had her play being offended for sensation, but she should refuse next time. It makes her seem obsessive to those who don't know her and lacking compassion, even though she knows animals. She is quite aware of the responsibilities and the possible accompanying frustrations of having more than one or two emotionally and physically demanding dependents. Like a tired mother of special needs babies. 🙂
