In this episode, we react to Gio's Cesar 911 Episode. Gio was labeled as an aggressive dog, but in the end he was just a misunderstood pug. After going through 5 homes, I was called into his 6th home situation.
Years later, Gio and I watch his episode. Learn more about our journey in this video!
We love you Gio! Glad you are a part of our pack.

Yes, and it is very gracious of him. to take them on rather than to risk them getting even worse in the care of someone else who would end up hurt, rehoming the dog or putting them down. Rather than act ashamed or embarrassed or shying away from incidents of biting (or maintaining a grudge against the dog) Cesar demonstrates that the problems and that negative relationship can be fixed. I think when you see a dog you know will be euthanised because humans(7 homes worth of humans)have taught him to be aggressive the way Gio was being you have no choice but to rescue the dog through adoption to prove to everyone it was never the dog. There is NEVER a bad dog, only a miss understood dog in a home with ignorant people. Pack mentally and pecking order is a must with multiple people and multiple animals under one ruff. Thank you Cesar for having that understanding and for seeing through Gio’s tough exterior covering a loving, loyal dog.

Anyone judging the owner, Shannon, needs to realize that improving and developing the UNCONSCIOUS aspects of yourself (e.g., energy, etc.,) is not a simple or easy task. It's not just a matter of 'wanting' to improve. It takes patience, courage, and humility (and humiliation). Shannon's ability to even take in that feedback and begin to recognize its accuracy puts her FAR ahead of a majority of people. You may not have her particular blind spot, but you have your own.

We have this problem too, most people do in some way. Our rescue is a pitbull who lived on streets. My husband feels badly she had such a hard life before we got her. I use a wheelchair and the ramp is in the garage. But my husband thinks she is afraid to go in backyard at night so he doesnt want to put her out if i need to go somewhere. We are all a work in progress. I have found that since my legs arent working right i get angry easier. I have to sort thru why that is the case.

Cesar is a legend, helped me hugely - I went from being scared of dogs, to watching Cesar for many years and deciding to buy a German Shepherd (as our first dog too!). I used Cesar shared knowledge from Dog Whisperer etc, to have an amazing dog in our family pack. In the U.K. we ‘humanise’ dogs so much and it’s not fair on the dog - this doesn’t mean not love the dog, but giving the dog what they need in the right order! Thanks Cesar, you helped changed lives across the Atlantic too! Just to add...the way we deal with dogs scared of fireworks in the U.K. is often wrong, they get scared and we give affection - I did it the Cesar way and my German Shepherd was fearless !

Wow! You are amazing! I don’t even know you and am proud of you. From fear of dogs to a GS. Remarkable. Believe me, too many people in the US baby and pamper their dogs during times of stress rather than encouraging them to relax and be calm. New Year’s Eve my 14 yo pit lab mix reacted nervously to fireworks in the neighborhood. She jumped off the bed and came to my side to be comforted. I petted her a little and told her matter of factly and calmly everything was fine then just ignored her. She got back on the bed and I bundled her up in a blanket. She was nervous at first, but soon relaxed and fell asleep because I demonstrated relaxation and calm. I owe so much to Cesar for all the lessons I learned from his videos over the years.

Same here!! everyone asks when walking my dogs ( Mastiffs and Pitties) all at the same time without tension on their leashes even when other dogs and people are around walking their dogs, all barking at us!!!, when they have 1 dog pulling like heck!! I say I watch Caesar Millan videos!! He is straight to the point about dogs! some people make an hour or so video trying to teach a dog 1 thing when Caesar gets to the point and teaches dogs 5-10 things within a minutes!!!

That quote : "do not show affection during bad behavior" this is so true with cats too! My boyfriend is pestered by our cats when they want to be fed (when it's not meal time) but they rarely come to me because I don't give in and I show I don't want to but firmly. Also about the agreement is also so true! I always tell him to not let the youngest cat bite but he says "it's okay it doesn't hurt, it's just playful but I do reprimand it when it hurts me". Dude, it will only confuse the cat! We could've problems with that youngest cat with our disagreement but thankfully we have an oldest cat which teached it manners and respect. For example, in the beginning the youngest had hard time to not use its claws when playing, after got beaten up by the oldest after a few time the youngest is now more careful and gentle, pheww...
