People get dogs and then don’t want to do any of the work it takes. Dogs are incredibly smart. And loyal. They want to be good. They want stability. But they need to be shown how to be. It’s not very difficult to show a dog that it can’t jump on company, or run at the door. Just a few training bits and they will learn. My Labrador puppy when she was younger, was showing signs of resource guarding. She was eating incredibly fast. When I got near, she stiffened up and would stop eating. She’d side-eye me. I knew I had to nip this behavior in the bud before it got worse. Because something like that left unchecked can become very dangerous in the future. So I read up and watched videos. I used positive reinforcement. And little by little she improved. Took a week of continuous work at mealtimes, if that. And now I can take something from her without a worry if she’s gotten something she’s not supposed to have.

I wonder if the weight thing at 26:54 is still true. I bring that up because the 7 year per human year thing has been changed recently to go by a dogs weight if that makes sense. If confused, please comment and I will happily explain.
@durabelle Жыл бұрын
I'm sure it's just some kind of an average guess even at best, since dog breeds vary so hugely in their ideal weight. Just think of a Chihuahua compared to a huge mastiff for example. One pound extra on a normal Chihuahua is like 10-20% of their ideal body weight, whereas on a 120 lb Bullmastiff or a Great Dane one pound isn't even a 1% increase. So the bigger the dog is supposed to be the more extra weight they can carry before it becomes a serious issue on it's own. If an average dog weighs about one fifth of an average human this rule more or less works. The 7 year rule kind of still works too, except now we understand that it's not even all through their lives. In the first year dog age much faster than 7 human years, since a 1yo dog is basically an adult by size and hormonally developed too, so more like a 20yo human. Then it slows down for many years, but towards the end of their life span they seem to age faster again. A 10yo dog on average in healthy breeds is pretty close to a 70yo person, still capable of a lot but basically a pensioner. A 15yo is close to a 100yo human, definitely close to an end and the majority has passed by then.

You just need to show and teach Guiness to go into the pool safely on leash over the stairs, the same way he comes out. (Cesar often does it) It could be used for him to loose steam, to loose the weight properly, even for physical therapy... What these owners did was just pure madness and lazyness and blaming the animals, not themselves for not training them! It's a shame. My youngest of 4 years of age worked out how to open the gate to the pool, the doors to the garden was open and my two boys was just laying in the lounge, she fell in but because of the distance from the pool to the house no one heard it, it wasn't till my boys barking thought what are they up to. To come around form were i was working down the side of the house to see both of them in the pool, my first thought was one of my boys was really good at opening doors and gates. Went to get them out to find one had hold of her hair the other was in front of her, with out a thought fully clothed just ran jumped in grabbed her, those two boys didn't give up even when getting to the stairs, they just kept on barking and had to show them she was ok. You here stories like this all the time in the dog world and you think yed ok there may be some truth to it. But that is the day I truly believe what dogs can do. RIP Luca and Auggie thank you for all the good times we shared but above all saving our little grandmother .

Honestly, I don't understand why dogs are overweight on these shows. Unless there is a valid medical condition, THE OWNER controls the diet and exercise. It's not like the dogs grab the car keys and drive to McDonalds for a burger and fries... AND don't get me started on the "re-homing" term. Really?! With all the unwanted dogs in the world you think "re-homing" is the smart choice?

It wasn't the owners fault they were struggling with the door training because most trainers will tell you to train one dog at a time and then when they all are good with it, to do it as a group, not just have all 3 at once.

Hi, guys. I am comeback again! The vehicle number plate of the presenter is an example of a prohibited vehicle number plate in my country, Indonesia.

These people just make me sick as a doggy momma myself of 4 that fallow me everywhere yes I have difficulty with my puppy yet but if you treat the dog well they will respect you i raise mine like children and they act like it to but to use all them things that hurt the dogs make them in pain and anxiety and they are irritated so what do they expect how would you act if someone was doing all that to you 😢

As usual on this show, it is the human relationship problems.

I am very happy to see a lesbian couple and their daughter on here, and no one in the comments seems to think twice about it ❤

No one cares that they are lesbians. Just that they are bad dog owners and quite unlikable.
