This episode really opened my eyes because i use to excuse my dog's behaviour just like this. She was a rescue that lived a terrible life before, and i wanted to completely spoil her so much that i didn't realize her behaviour was so bad because of me.
@ashh1881 Жыл бұрын
It sucks because it's such a common trap to fall into with any rescue animal. Anyone's natural response would be to completely lavish them with everything and anything they want. But rescues more often than not need more structure and discipline because most have suffered trauma. Trauma leads to more severe behavioral issues. The best thing you can do for a rescue with a bad past is to give them that structure because it will make them feel more safe and confident, dampening their anxieties and making them happier.

"My dogs are like my children" OK, but children also need boundaries and discipline! Your job as a parent, of humans or pets, is not to make sure they're happy all day, all the time--it's to make sure they're happy long-term because they're secure and functional. If nobody likes your kids or your pets because of their behavior, you haven't done your job.

This is an old episode. But this guy was so creepy.
@barbaraburton8914 Жыл бұрын
Watching him with. Zoe in the bed was like him and a woman, not like him and a pet. Look at his eyes. They say he loves the dog most he just can't say that on tv.
@ElaMongrella Жыл бұрын
I kinda have the suspicion that Zoey was scared of having her picture taken, not because of the camera as a scary object itself, but that her owners might've done some silly (to put it lightly) things, to try to get her to pose, or that there was always some kind of commotion if she moved out of a position they thought was so cute that they wanted a picture of it. So she gradually came to resent the camera.
@maryseflore7028 Жыл бұрын
Exactly. It's so very telling that she was completely fine with Victoria, but the minute Adam took the camera she went to hide.

This was a creepy episode and Adam's behavior towards Zoey was suspicious. He almost couldn't keep his hands off her

That dog is intense. I can take food out of my dog’s mouth with my hand. I’ve done this when I accidentally gave her too many treats 😂

Its too bad there's not really updates to these things. Adam did change and seem to understand better by the end, but I wonder if it was enough? Are they still together? I want to know!

Luca requires much more intellectual stimulation and is smarter than his 'dad"....that's the whole problem.
@kurtwagner4663 Жыл бұрын
I mean Luca is a elderly dog...no wonder he can't stay focused as long as Zoe who is like half his age. Old dogs can learn new tricks, but it takes much more time.
@m6666 Жыл бұрын
I'm going to disagree with you. I've trained both old and young dogs and I've found that age makes no difference. If anything, the older dogs pick things up quicker than young dogs because they can concentrate better and for longer.
@kurtwagner4663 Жыл бұрын
@@m6666 not an 11 yrs old dog. Sorry, I have other experiences, because I too had both elderly and young dogs.
@BeastRedAsh Жыл бұрын
@@m6666 Well, you forgot one little thing - THIS elder dog had a full life of poor skill/control/impulse training. It's a habit for the dog now to act against any imposed rules on him and he will straight up demand for things, cuz he has no impulse control and don't want to wait. The more years passed, the more this behavior of his got carved into stone, making it harder to change.
@m6666 Жыл бұрын
@Red Ash/Kurt Wagner not habit...the dogs know they have the upper hand. They are in charge and he panders to their every demand.
@BeastRedAsh Жыл бұрын
@@m6666 I just summarised it all with one word, I thought, I wouldn't have to elaborate it further. But yes, it's not just habits, it's the whole world view, that contains their position inside this world, position inside the family, how things work, how to react and behave depending on situation, etc etc. Basically his point of view onto this world got solidified with each passed year, and for him that's how the world works. His demanding - works, so he exploits it with not a shred of doubt, because animals are not burdened by moral issues, they don't know what good, or bad, they can learn what works, and what don't. Abstract thinking is not really their thing

Adam needs to get a grip on himself and stop being so selfish that he’s going to lose his girlfriend. I would just leave him for putting the dogs first. I refuse to play second fiddle to the dogs! Go bye Adam, I’m too good for you! Just set yourself free!

I really think owning an animal is a privilege that should be earned and to legally own an animal you should be able to prove you know how to properly care for them and handle them it’s nuts to me that people can own another sentient living being and not give them even the basics and/or allow them to injure other people and not care
