I remember watching your video when you purchased this truck. I had a 2018 Raptor at the time and watched because of the V8 Raptor desire. Fast forward to now and I have gotten rid of the Eco boost Raptor trash and have a TRX. I absolutely love it. Its a 2022 and only 13k miles on it, but I know there will be a time when I will get rid of it and with the prices of the V8 Raptor R and the Hellcat TRX going away and the price of new trucks in general, I am thinking I will buy an older Gen 1 V8 Raptor as they are affordable and the 6.2 liter engines are great. I really enjoy your Raptor videos so thanks for the value and entertainment. Bought a 2014 with 100k miles raptor 1.5 years ago for 29K. It was bald tires and blown shocks. I replaced with a Gen 2 coilverd. Since I’ve had it :Radiator, Radiator fans, transmission oil cooler, transmission, Rear drive shaft, cv axles, Brakes, full oil service, air filter, Spark plugs, cables, coils, battery, battery connectors, all led bulbs and led head light conversion. Blower motor resistor, Throttle body, fuel pump, fuel pump relay, fuel pressure sensor, alternator, starter, 4 wheel drive motor, rear window, lots of wiring fixes. The 2010-2014 f150 are generally the same and well designed trucks. Ford decided to make cheap parts 🤣. I’ve since done all the upgrades or lifetime warranty on parts. Some stuff was done ahead of full break downs.

It used to be my dream truck and I bought it at least partially due to your review. I LOVE it! I spent a lot on it but that was mainly preventative maintenance as well. Fun fact: I love the factory Raptor stance. I bought it "leveled" but reverted to the factory settings. Partially because the lights were blinding others. High beams left the first 8 meters of the road unlit, haha! I try to baby it while trying to have fun on- and offroad as well. Actually, it won a Sportsman cup in a drag race recently :) I understand where this world is heading to and who knows, I might go electric one day but until than I will enjoy the last bits of the V8 engines. Not to be "that guy" but I have a few bones to pick. Modifications aren't maintenance. The A/C Compressor and tires are maint., and new wheels are a modification. A new exhaust because the old one failed would be maintenance, a new exhaust because it is cool is a mod. Anything you change because you think it would be cool is a mod., anything you change because the vehicle requires it in maintenance. I'd split totals, here are the maint. costs, here is what I spent on mods. Also, you got bent over on the shocks, Rockauto has the replacement Fox shocks for a little over $300 each, I just replaced mine in Feb of this year and I used a discount code on top of that. I was nowhere near the $3000 or whatever your price was.

How many miles does it have now jacob ? And i think u did good in buying your dream truck is all what counts congrats 🎉

386,000km now

Honestly this guy has so far paid way less than if he would’ve bought a newer one. Probably still worth about the same money he bought it for. Which would not be the case for a newer truck. I’d say good buy. Especially now you got all the maintenance done.

I bought a 2012 Raptor with under 20,000 miles for $38,000 back in 2022. I put maybe $800 in it and would venture to say it’s still worth a good amount. Kbb says $31,000-$33,000 It has 44,000 miles now. My car math: basically lost $2500 a year while not having any headaches. It doesn’t matter what you pay. What matters is what it’s worth when you decide to sell.

I love your video being watching you for long time , I have quick questions I found Raptor 2018 has 235k km in the body but it has brand new engine replaced by ford ,do you think its good idea to buy or not , thanks for any advice
@itsreallyjakub8 ай бұрын
Possibly. But those engines are known to have some problems. It could happen again. Those v6 aren’t bulletproof like these v8
@ismails97058 ай бұрын
I guess I will go for the same things that you did buy v8 Raptor and fix it , Thank you for your advice and wish you first million subscribers in 2024 🎉

Pro tip, you can rebuild those struts/shocks yourself.

On my 2012 extended cab I got the Morimoto headlights, break lights and 3rd brake / bed light. Still haven't installed the the marker lights because of the weather and I don't have a garage. But other than that I have a feeling that the spark plugs are going to need to be changed out right along with my breaks pretty soon. Other than that I am happy with my purchase, I might buy a 2nd Gen and give my 1st Gen to my daughter 🤔

The marker lights are super easy to install. I think I’m going to do Spark plugs this year too

Start ordering roller rockers, lifters, timing chain kit, and if its a 6.2 get valve springs. I have 200k on my ford and the oil tensioner on bank 2 leaked oil causing a camshaft code.
@leroyybrown9 ай бұрын
Wow that’s high mileage buying it with 350K on the clock. So all original engine and transmission with no rebuild. That’s great reliability from the drive train.
@itsreallyjakub9 ай бұрын
Yup all original. If I had to guess what’s going to die first it’ll be the transmission
@krasnaludek2989 ай бұрын
I love the 1st gen Raptor … they’re just bulletproof in every sense.
@itsreallyjakub9 ай бұрын
If anything will go, it’ll be the transmission. But it’s just a regular f150 trans so shouldn’t be too expensive if it does go

Every truck has that rake so when you load up the back it levels out
@itsreallyjakub9 ай бұрын
Makes sense. Good thing I never load the back except when I go to the garbage dump
@caecae27268 ай бұрын
I think that the price is great for something you’re enjoying, actually I think it’s very cheap for such a cool truck.
