44:41 u need to watch the mv explained. It’s not confirmed but it’s almost known that the song and mv were like a tribute for her youth and all her friends that passed away. Sulli, goo hara and Jonghyung who were very very good friends of iu all three. At the beginning the screen says “do u want to save all your memories?” And IU presses yes. Thats why she is seen happy but alone throughout all the mv. The lizard represents jonghyun as it was known he really liked them and the girl flying with the lizard/dragon represents sulli and hara. Also the song is called eight since she turned 28 that year and dedicated her album to her 28. Suga is the same age as iu so they got close and could relate with eo with the lyrics. Iu said it was very easy to record the song since the whole process was very smooth because they could understand eo very well. I might have said something wrong since it was a long time ago that the theories were everywhere but if u watch an explanation of the mv u would undersand it way better.

Thank you for going through the journey again with me. It feels like we are growing up together with her. I liked how I managed to split her career nicely into 2 parts. This part is her starting out as a confused young adult in 23 to her saying goodbye to her 20s in Lilac and then beyond. Every song from her have been precious to me and i hope she continues making and performing songs that she enjoys.

So, me and her are the same age and she was born a month before me, so as a fan of hers, I always felt so seen and understood when a new song came out by her. It just felt like validation and a bit of a friendly reminder that I'm not alone. I sometimes think it's one of my blessings that we were born so close and she ended up being so true to herself.

"Ending Scene" is about a long term relationship that ended. The two are seen looking back at their memories together, the channels in the corner representing the days they spent together. As the scenes pass, the man is smiling fondly at the memories while IU seems a but uncertain. You can see scenes of the couple tied up and in some of them they seem really happy/playful since they were happily tied together with their feelings. Eventually as the feelings change, you see the man's expression become quite blank while she's still staring at him with pain in her eyes. They start to cut the strings that held the relationship together, but he finally cuts his own strings and leaves with no more attachments to their relationship. She is left holding onto it for a while longer until she finally slowly cuts away at her strings to also let go.

So in Korea, there's a saying that people (especially women) are either 'foxes' or 'bears'. Foxes are very cunning and can easily manipulate situations to fit them, while bears are kind and innocent to the point of being dumb. Twenty-Three as a whole is a song that disses her haters and people who infantilize her while expecting her to act like a mature woman at the same time (hence all the contradictions in the song like her being so confident people will be nice to her even if she's rude but still worrying if the woman who smiled was being genuine). The 'pretends to be a fox that pretends to be a bear that pretends to be a fox' are actually real hate comments IU used to receive from netizens who say that she's actually a cunning 'fox' pretending to be a kind and innocent 'bear'.

It's been a while since I've watched you. I'm glad you checked IU again. Thank you for making and uploading this video. Alsom In Eight, that animated girl character running in the jungle isn't her. She has no mole on her cheek while IU has. It represents someone else. Also the lizard dragon represents someone too. As you can see at the end the two passed IU while she was in the plane. It is theorized that maybe those two represents Sulli and Jonghyun. For Strawberry Moon, you will go crazy about the live performance from her Golden Hour concert.
