I think my fell off, because I can’t feel it. but I got my iud put after I had my second child. When I went to get seen for my 6 weeks it was still there. Since then I haven’t been able to feel it

Sometimes, the threads tuck themselves up in the little space between the cervix/vagina, and so you can't feel them. If you're not sure, your Doc or nurse can check.

A prolapse happens because of weakness of our pelvic floor and bowel, bladder and womb could be affected in different types of prolapse. There could be a connection if the womb is prolapsed and could lead to the coil falling out. Hi.. I have an Iud removal last year around oct. I like it because i have a Normal feelings in it. What if the strings are sticking out? One knuckle deep I can feel almost like a metal ball, as well.

If the strings are sticking out from your vulva (thats outside the vagina), the coil is out. You should feel the strings inside the vagina. If any doubts, please let your Dr take a look for you.

You can ask your Dr to check if it's still in place. Use a condom till they've confirmed the position.

Hi Tina, I’d recommend getting this checked by your doctor. It’s not common to have heavy bleeding from the coil alone after 6 months - there are also some details to ask about and YT is not the platform for that. If you’ve lost a very heavy amount of blood (suggested by large clots and prolonged) bleeding, and you feel ill - dizzy or with bad pain for eg, consider visiting the emergency room for an urgent check up. Hi Stacy, it's a good idea to ask your doctor or nurse to check the strings and that the coil is in place - should clarify what's happening and hopefully reassuring.

I had my iud inserted a month ago.i just got back from checking my iud string. My gyn said that my iud has dropped some. I decided to leave it in. I am using it for heavy period. If it falls out. I will see my gyn.. i don't think i will insert a new one. Because, of my multi fibroids which is very small. I will deal with it or get a embolism done. I am 56 and still having periods

Hi, that's not very common. Sometimes during a heavy period you might not see the coil if it's come out. Good to check with your Dr/gynae - they could request a scan to see if the coil is still there.
