i don’t think the movie is real. the trailer footage is basically bordering on parody, and imo this is a fake biopic, and the album is a concept album with the concept being a movie soundtrack to 21s life. it’s immersive and funny in the way donald glover likes to be and in keeping with the cinematic themes on savage mode II

I agree, kinda similar to how Drake and 21 were on that cover of VOGUE, as it was promotion for Her Loss, I think having Donald Glover and Caleb playing 21 Savage in a movie just is a publicity stunt, to get more people talking, I think this is just really good marketing

He knows raps about to change real soon. That’s why he’s dumping all this on us so quick with no rollout. Furthermore, labels are pushing out any trap albums to be released before this change comes because they don’t wanna lose any money.

@RoarTheRapper a form of lyrical rap is definitely coming within the next year maybe sooner. I’m not talking about Eminem clones, and there’s several with unique styles like blp kosher.

Pay! You always bringing the perspective! Think you’re right with the “KZbin movie” kind of take - I thought it looked a little low budget also for those stars to be included but now I could see it more for promo/smaller scale verse a Nation wide screening in theaters type of release. DG as 21 is super odd but maybe because of his Atlanta show and a close relationship with 21? Keep up the great work man 👍🏼

It's kinda crazy that Variety couldn't figure out that this was all rollout lol. Their article on this ends if "there's no word if this movie is real or not". I don't think a movie is coming at all actually, maybe a short film if anything. If you watched the rollout for Her Loss, it should be obvious that this is just creative marketing. I think a short notice for a drop is actually genius. We get so worked up and hyped for some albums and then once they come, we talk about it for a news cycle and move on to the next release. Either from the artist or in general. I kinda hope he does because dropping one single that could be horrible and there's no longer as much hype for the full album.

man as an honest 21 savage fan id have to say, no matter what 21 drops it can never compare to anything youngboy has made or will make. 21 is my favorite artist but 21 is also a peon compared to yb i wish he never spoke on kentrell and his beef with little dirt but it is what it is. also another note im not sure if 21 is cut out for this movie thing i wish the higher ups dump this off to a more lively artist like ice cube, yb, maybe even tee grizzly but aye it is what it is .
