What do u think about the rx 7900XT? I really wanted the rtx 4070 ti super but its expensive for me.
@theivadim5 ай бұрын
@@Ariel_UZ I've not tried the 7900 XT specifically and I still have to experience the new FSR 3.1 on an AMD GPU. However, I'm not a fan of AMD GPUs in general. Only because resolution upscaling is very important for me. DLSS quality is superb and it's in so many game. FSR on the other hand is very difficult to find. There's like 5 games with FSR 3.1 and that's it. And there's no telling if that'll improve in the future. It's been well over a month and FSR 3.1 is not getting adopted. That is concerning. Hence why I don't recommend AMD GPUs. But if you're looking to play your games without frame generation and upscaling then the 7900 XT is a brilliant choice. It's cheaper and performs well. Curious, is there a difference for the MSI 4080 Super Suprim, Expert, Gaming and the other models largely aesthetics? Or is a specific version meant to be better than the others?
@quiche_tueuse36162 ай бұрын
First, as a « low end » model you have the msi ventus (x2 or x3 which correspond to the number of fan to cool the gpu) then you have msi gaming x trio or gaming x (also corresponding to the number of fan present on the gpu to cool it) which is « middle end ». Still in the middle end there is also a model called msi gaming x slim which like the name state is a slimmer version of the other, mostly used for small build / case. For the « top end » you have the msi suprim x (and the suprim liquid x which is only available on the 4090 lineup so I don’t count it here) which is the top of the line 4080 / super of msi. You might ask me what is the difference between all of these model, and it’s pretty simple: quality. Lower end model like ventus (even if it’s a very good quality card ) will not be equipped of last msi fan technology for example.

Nice to see one of these lit up. Doing a new build and this card is on the parts list, along with a 670E Tomahawk, Samsung 990 2TB, 32G Corsair Dominator, Corsair H150 Elite 360, going into a Hyte Y70. Was planning on a 7950x3D (I'm an Intel guy, but the 14th Gen's scare me - microcode fix or not), but waiting until the Zen 5's come out on the 15th (supposedly) and not sure if the extra money will be worth it, or if I even want to spend it. Time will tell. Was a bit confused by the title as the Suprim is MSI's flagship card. It's not a monster 4090, but I think it'll do the job just fine. :) Again, nice to see one lit. I like a little RGB, but don't want my rig to look like a circus either.
@theivadim5 ай бұрын
"like a circus"😀 You made me laugh. That's a good comparison. I won't be able to look at my RGB-filled PC the same ever again😄 That's a solid build you've planned. I'd only suggest considering a change to the CPU. If this is primarily a gaming PC and you don't need extra cores for work, the 7800X3D would be a great choice. Its 3D cache is attached to all 8 cores, ensuring optimal performance in games. The 7950X3D, while powerful, has a split cache configuration that can sometimes hinder gaming performance due to application inconsistencies.

@@theivadim Yeah, I agree for just gaming a 7800x3D is the better choice. But I do use Photoshop and a bit of Blender and believe that's where the 7800 might fall a tad short, though prolly not by much. IDK. Hell, I'm buying a 4080S, which isn't worth the money anyway, so what do I know? As far as the RGB, considering the Corsair AIO, + 4 additional AF120 fans, in actuality my rig will look like Disneyland at night anyway. I'm also thinking that perhaps the MSI Carbon (which also has RGB) might be a better mobo choice, but now I have no money left for my clown suit. Damn it! I just might consider the 7800 since it's much cheaper to offset the price of the Carbon mobo. It's all so confusing...

@randysalsman69923 ай бұрын
With a build of that caliber I'd highly recommend to go with 64GB of RAM, or at the very least you could split the difference and go with 48GB RAM. On top of that, make sure you do the research and get RAM that tunes up the best, so that you can tighten the timings as tight as possable to get low of latency as possable then after that, get the highest MT/s you can reach but still stay in a 1:1 with the CPU's fclk (aka Fabric Clock). If you tune your RAM to perfection and use a none x3d CPU, you can get close to the x3d gaming performance, also the gaming performance you get from the xdd is really only for newer game's and even then not all. The rest of the games use your normal CPU performance and that fast memory don't do diddly and that's the performance everything else your computer does works with. I researched all this when I build my current system, so I went with a R9 5950x and 4x8GB(32GB) of RAM with samsung b-die memory modules. I got them suckers to 1:1 3800MT/s CL14-14-14-14-28-T1@1.55V (b-die loves voltage, all other memory would fry lol). That's as high as like 99% can go, only like that 1% can go higher but lot's will not reach this level of performance. Took me awhile to reach it, but now it'll always go back to it if the bios gets reset. I was so happy I got it to that level, it got me performance to that of almost the next generation, I'd say about 60% the way there. Gave me a really snappy system that the 5800x3d would not have, gave me most of the gaming performance that benefits from the x3d's and more gaming performance on the titles that don't. Oh, almost forgot, when tuning RAM you always wanna do it all manually, no nead in using X.M.P.

@@randysalsman6992 Thanks for your input. I'm an Intel guy, but going 7800x3D on this build. The 13/14th Gen CPUs scare me now, though I'm sure issues have been resolved at this point. Anyway, I ultimately chose G.Skill Trident Z5's (was gonna get the Royal Neo's, but fancy Chrome or Gold side pieces really aren't worth an extra $50...but they look nice) at 6000, supposedly the best the 7800x3D. Is that true? Hell, idk, but everyone seems to think so, so I'll follow that pack in this case. And at this point, I'm not convinced one needs more than 32G. When and if that turns out to be untrue, then I'll just spend $110 for another 32G of RAM. And these day's, $110 buys you a Coke at McDonald's, so not bad for RAM. :)

If you want 4K native, without DLSS, buy a 4090 or save some cash and buy an AMD card, like the AMD Radeon RX 7990 XTX... with crap AMD drivers and mediocre RT, being a good reason why you might even consider just holding onto your cash, for now.
