I am never tired of listening to Dr Ivan Van Sertima Professor Emeritus. I have listened to these lectures many times. How I wish he was still alive. I just love the way he raises his voice when he wants to accentuate a point. So erudite, so transparent and so distinct.

Why wish he was still alive when we can make him alive? By being the change he is calling for, empower your mind and go conquer the world. Share this to awaken the many bros and sis still asleep. To the one who is using this as bed time story, this isn't fairy tail bro! No, nooooh, you should listen to it at the zenith of your mind to grasp it fully and achieve its lesson. This calls for actions, not inaction...action to educate ourselves, to acquire the most profound knowledge and go reconquer and dominate the world as we did before, longer than anyone else. Let us wake up from this lethargic current state and retake our place as the originators of civilization on earth.

This brother Dr Ivan Van Sertima is a genius, I see in many comments people wish he was still here, remember God has a time for everything, I’m grateful for the time this great brother had with us, he got his message across. We miss him but there could be another one out there like him.

Virgilius the people depicted on the inside of the temple walls, sculpture and art in Egypt are not Europeans or Asians. I’ve been there 3 times. You actually have to go there and see it with your own eyes. The mummies you speak of are from the New Kingdom period after Egypt had been invaded and colonized by whites from the North and via the Arabian peninsula on the East.

@EuropaNostra So you didn't hear the part when he said "the u.s president is no more native american than modern day majority egyptians" (paraphrased) He clearly adressed your point in the beginning. Also Afro-arabians do exist. I have lived in egypt and am from North philly, I have spoken arabic my entire life and part of my family hails fron the region. I know what egyptians think and most of it comes from american colonial mentalities, the fact that france colonized egypt and a host of black countries and the fact that arabs had a slave trade that lasted centuries. None of this has any bearing on who the original egyptians are which would be black africans. For any who haven't gone, egypt is a lovely place full of lovely people. Racial attitudes are often not as overt (much less than america) and people are extreamly tolerant of most things. The racism in egypt is of the global brand exported by the west mostly and not a particular variety specific to egypt, there are arab societies that are completely Anti-black in their ideals but this is not one of them. Sudan and ethiopia surround the country and education and people flow back and forth not to mention there are black egyptians as is stated in this talk. Visit and fall in love ✌

Especially for Black Live Matter ''We can not advance by shouting big black slogans because you may be big and black but have to know knowledge in your head''. ''Drawing upon our past we can recreate ourselves the quality of the present thereby projecting ourselves into a totally different future''. Ivan Van Sertima This is exactly what is happening today in America. It's like a slave that wants to escape but does not think about a complete plan-a, b, and c.

We really are all the same. This speech completely changed my life when I first saw it. It just goes to show that the constructs of race, social class, and culture are ridiculously asinine. We don’t need this anymore. Every member of the human race, regardless of how they look, are “African” but they’re all unique in the way that their ancestors explored and settled in different parts of the world. We’re all different, but we’re also the same. “Albinos” and “Neanderthals” are our brothers. A very important thing to remember about Dr. Van Sertima is that he was NOT an “Afrocentrist” like some “historians” would claim. He didn’t believe in the superiority of any creed. He only believed in history, the history of man. This ideology should be implemented in schools around the world, but as we all know, the constructs of race and culture diminish any possibility of this happening. It’s pitiful, but we can still hope…

@@durauntejackson1971 😓 How'd I miss that! I literally listened to that album back and forth when it came out. I think I was so blown away by Nas verifying UFO activity on that song--"ask Horse if I'm lyin"-- to dig deeper into the lyrics, and I'll be dammed, Ivan Van Sertima is explicitly named. I should've been studying and reading his works years ago, but I stumbled into him at my own pace (when the student is ready, the teacher appears). @Durante Jackson, you, my good sir, made the connection 'back home' to familiar territory. I love finding gems of knowledge in hip hop, so when you replied immediately with the song....💥💥💥 Much gratitude, peace, and blessings to you, brother 🙏🏿🙌🏿 ✊🏿 P.s. I've listened to a few tracks from Nas' new Kings Disease 2, and it's pretty tough. Wonder what you think of it. Also wondering what jewels will shake loose from this album nearly a decade later. At any rate, N, the album is probably my favorite Nas album.

Part of the problem people will have with this is due to how postmodern people look at the ancient world. The ancient world is seen as backwards or at best limited . Not as the home of numerous civilizations , not in which there was science let alone scientific achievements , not in which there was mathematics. Therefore it is not an usual leap that people would find it hard to accept Nubians or blacks in Egypt and as creators and inventors .

1. To those who believe the ancient Egyptians were mostly black. What happened to the majority black populations of Cairo and Alexandria? Why are the people of those two cities mostly non black today? 2. If the ancient Egyptian population was primarily black why would they make use of sunscreens? "In fact, sunscreen was used by ancient Egyptians. The Egyptians were known to use rice bran extracts, jasmine and lupine extracts as a sunscreen because they realized these ingredients had the ability to absorb the sun’s very strong rays. These chemicals are still used today in some of the modern sunscreen products." Source: History of Sunscreen by Andrew Rubin
