You should post this in the talkbass forum man, that would be great! It's hard to say which one sounds better or to figure out what you're playing. And I think that's the whole point; in a mix who's really going to notice? Especially when accompanied by distorted guitars! 😁

Like you said, they all had their own very cool individual SVT tone. Hard to belive, you can carry an awesome SVT tone in your backpack these days. Based on your personal settings, I preferred C, A, and B.

I'm liking A the best. To me it is slightly more scooped that B giving it a little more clarity. C had too much bottom end for me.

As always, well done comparison, Ivan! In your first video I was really impressed by the Origin Bass Rig. The Plugin sounded too smooth for me, less low end definition than the Quad Cortex and the Bass Rig, which both had a more present midrange. So my guess is, that the Origin Bass Rig has to be sample A in this context. At least that was the one I liked most in this full band context. It had a good balance of warmth, punch and definition. When the Origin Bass Rig came out, I was really shocked by the price. After hearing it in a band context with different playing styles I'd consider it as a handy tool to recreate that SVT-type tones without having to carry around a real tube amp. Lucky me, it's sold out at the moment, so I don't have to decide to order one right now.

I liked Sample A the best. Sample C seemed to have deeper lower notes overall. I think the difference in spice was greater between Samples A-C on the Jazz Bass than the P Bass. I did like the Bass Rig in the previous review. 👏🏻🎶

To be honest they all sounded good but I personally preferred Sample A in most of the examples (indie and rock samples) although it wasn't as clear as the others in the funk sample at the start. I did like the clarity of sample C until the low end dropped out in the rocky mix at the end. Some might like that though i guess. Great comparison video!

B sounds best to me, maybe because it has the strongest low-end character, but also has growl. C just totally falls out of the mix for some reason, the bass is way too low. A sounds pretty good too.

Nice comparison! It would be cool to have a comparison with the vt bass di from sansamp, to see how this one stands against the most popular of the “vt in a pedal” alternatives.

I can’t tell witch is witch but my least favourite is the sample C. The DSM humboldt bass station is based of a SVT and it sound very good but I found the drive to sound more modern and more darkglass’ish than a SVT

I pick A,followed closely with B.C sounds good but darker.

Their all very close, and I'm listing through an expensive THXII surround system with SVS subs & OLED TV...hard to decide but as I play mostly with fingers I thought B sounded like a really good SVT tone...but all very close, pc modelling/ir pedals etc are so much better nowadays....will be interesting to find out which tone is by what....

Great video. I am looking forward to a comparison of the Bass rig and the Tech21 stuff. I loved my VT-bass deluxe (sold it unfortunately) and my YYZ-pedal. Is the difference in price justified?
