Thank you for your recipe! I didn't know how to do them and you gave me the idea. But I changed the minutes. I pressed oatmeal in my Instant Pot and it said 6 minutes, so I used that and then quick release after 5 minutes because I didn't hear the sound when it was done. It came out awesome! I did enough to have for several days keeping it on mason jars. Congratulations for your best friend!

Steel Cut Oats are so much better than regular oats. I'll be making them in my 3qt tomorrow morning!!!

I wasn't a fan of eating oatmeal because of the mushiness of rolled oats when I discovered steel cut I refuse to eat rolled oat and it's a more favorable texture I can stand to eat

What ratio of steel cut oats to water would you use if only cooking 1 cup of steel cut oats? 3 cups water?
@IWantToCook4 ай бұрын
Yes, I’d try that first and see if you like the results. Cheers!
@samp1568 Жыл бұрын
can you sub rolled oats and keep everything else same? timing and measurements?
@IWantToCook Жыл бұрын
Good question. I think it would get too mushy with rolled oats and this time. They cook much faster - 5 to 10 mins on the stove - so I haven’t bothered with them in an Instant Pot. You might want to try a setting for 1-3 minutes, or cook them in a rice cooker, as demoed in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pp7Cc4ePhMiggM0si=BA7RIwGTNyHaD5VB
@samp1568 Жыл бұрын
@@IWantToCook we have the instant pot rice cooker also which i was thinking about using for the rolled oats. i just wasn’t sure if you can throw in all the extra stuff like apples in that one considering its size
@henrydevon2 жыл бұрын
I like mine on the dryer side so how much water do you recommend for 1 cup of oats?
@IWantToCook2 жыл бұрын
I'd use 2 cups of water and see how that turns out. If it's still too wet, use a bit less next time (or more if it's too dry). Cheers!
@eldapucci33062 жыл бұрын
How much does it yield? 1 cup oats / 3 cups of water only gave me 3 cups yield.
@IWantToCook2 жыл бұрын
That sounds about right, plus maybe another cup yield with the apples. This recipe can easily be doubled, and I encourage you to experiment. Thanks for watching 😀

Hi, thanks for the video! I want to ask how much oatmeal can I give my 10 pound fur-baby?
@IWantToCook Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I’d recommend starting with just a spoonful or two mixed in with their regular food so your dog can get accustomed to it. After that, maybe use it for up to a quarter of their regular food. I also have a KZbin channel called Barking Good Chef you might want to check out with more ideas and recipes for homemade dog food: youtube.com/@BarkingGoodChef?si=hK-TdGWt9bWf6Rr9

@@IWantToCookMaca powder is exclusively from Peru; and it’s grown at altitudes between nine thousand feet to fourteen thousand feet. Maca powder can be purchased in Whole Foods stores; and online websites. There’s a acupuncture doctor in Louisville, Kentucky that sells it in his office.

@@IWantToCook Great video! I just got tickled with the palm trees. Just a quick question, my husband won't eat oatmeal made with water. When I try to make it with milk in the instant pot it just burns. Is there anyway around this?? ❤️
@IWantToCook2 жыл бұрын
@@Sherralyn If your husband is OK with it, I would suggest using a milk alternative such as oat milk, soy milk, almond milk, etc. That way you get the extra nutrition and taste of a liquid other than water, and (hopefully) don't risk the curdling that can come with dairy products when boiled. Cheers!
