Do we keep just saying "oh it's fine, pretend like we have a chance and when we lose well hopefully next time goes better!" There does come a time when you have to hold the teams to a higher standard, especially when you consider one of the chief reasons they do so poorly is because loads of the staff in NA orgs are gold/plat players who have been on these team "player coaching" for years, with 0 clue of how the game works, and getting paid insane amounts of money to make the players worse at the game.

Regarding Dom's salt on Berg MVP, I don't feel he was watching the same game I was. Wins are always a team effort and there was always times when someone else steps up. But during each win of TSM, I felt Berg was "on average" the most valuable. He set the tone from the pick ban phase. If you watch the other teams, their whole focus is to keep him from going off. Whether it was with Zil bombs and ults, to TF TPs, and Syndra stuns, he on average set the pace for the team. I think during the TL game, you could of also given it to Double-lift, and I wouldn't have complained about it. Biofrost's Rakan was really good.

I did t get to that part yet but I thought Spica played above his average level most for me. Broken Blade impressed me for that fact that once he gets ahead on champs like Camille top I always think “This game is over”. That’s pretty rare in NA. All in all I agree with what you said and hope NA does good at worlds 🤞

This is Dom's entire point. this is valid, but if Berg gets an MVP for every series basically just for existing then what are we doing here? Just give it to him every game for existing as a midlaner. Yes, of course they didn't want him to go off. that doesn't change the fact that in this series, Spica and Broken Blade were more valuable to TSM's success.

@@chriscrowninshield4623 I think Spica did great and I wouldn't have a problem giving to him either. He had some clutch smites. The whole team had different moments of clutch plays. I guess thats what happens when every series goes to 5 games, and you do it 5 times. The reason I gave it to Berg is two fold. Like I said earlier, the teams strategized to stop Berg. Then during the game, Berg still set the tempo of the game. His TF games were absolute carries enabling BB to get picks or leads. On Zil, his bomb stuns and ults were the difference in the team fights. And his Syndra, he often initiated the fights and his stuns really won the team fights. I do think LCS has been guilty of what Dom is claiming historically. But in these last couple of series, Berg was really the best player during the series. Spica and BB did great. And TSM focused top lane jungler to make that happen, along with putting BB on carries. I don't want to take away from them at all. I think by Spica breaking out the Shen jungle and being successful on it along with Nidalee really helped set the tone of the last two series as well. TSM is a tough team to ban out now because of Berg and Spica. But if you even listen to the interviews of other teams, they state the team goes how Berg goes. The last comment is on DL and Sena. Wow, what a turn around. Because of his Sena play he easily could of been MVP on the TL series.

@1:17:18: Just wanted to mention, that as TSM you dont want to meet the MadLions in Group Stage. Here is why: Splyce 2019, G2 2018, FNatic 2017. All 3 Play In Participents from Europe also advanced to the Quaterfinals. (As did Cloud9 quite often, btw). Why? Probably because most EU Teams are really good at improving while playing on a fixed patch for multiple weeks. At least that is my guess. Or it could just be "lucky draws"... which would instantly apply, if the MadLions get into the TSM group.

I have the same feeling. Skt isn’t what it used to be anymore. I remember back in the day the roster was build around faker but ever since 2018 they stopped doing that. Which idk why they don’t anymore, and yeah u can question about faker’s performance at world in 2019 but overall the man is still top level mid. I just hope I can still see faker playing for a few more years. Man was the face of LCK for atleast 5 years.

Jun Zeng I think I heard from LS at one point that Faker got benched for Clozer at the end of the season/playoffs because Teddy and their jungler (name slips my mind) said they didn’t like Faker making calls. But T1 always seems to look better with Faker shotcalling, which is why they swapped adc and jungle for the gauntlet even though they didn’t win it.

So the dream tsm group Dom said (tsm, drx, machi, mad) simply can't happen assuming major regions go through play in. then every group has to have lec and lpl cos otherwise one group would have 2 which rules prevent. So it has to be jdg or sunning (both are pool 2, machi is pool 3) instead of drx. So it's tsm jdg/sunning machi mad/gen g. Sunning one is easier on paper. A group that tsm might get out of is also tsm jdg/sunning rogue wildcard. Finally a group with lgd might be last one that isn't completely doomed (tsm, fnc, machi, jdg or a harder one in tsm, drx, rogue, jdg). Either way they have 2 or 3 groups they maybe can get out of, which is surprisingly decent odds.

The 4 major regions will always get a 1st seed and based on their previous international performance they'll get bonus. Which is why they started with 3 teams in group stage last year and the other major regions started with 2.

You'd think with how many years Dom played in the same league as DL he'd know better about DL's trashtalking and how he almost always trashtalks before the game with some occasional follow ups after the game if he wins or just meme himself if he loses. Jensen doesn't trashtalk before the game. He does his talking after the game if he win, and almost always stays radio silent if he loses. As an LCS fan, the lower the expectations get for NA, the less pressure I feel which is actualy kind of nice. If they lose then that's expected but if they manage to win the satisfaction is through the roof. In fact, I would be happy if NA has zero expectations. No expectations=No pressure. The expectations for LCS are so low it might actually be a good thing, at least it's realistic.
