Yaoyao feels like a 4-star Dendro Kokomi. -Stationary Elemental Skill that heals and apply elements. -Burst that turns her into team healer that requires some field time. Currently using 4-piece Deepwood Memory on her as support for my other Dendro unit. Very solid character.

Kokomi is still superior kit wise. But Yao Yao is incredible. She hugely benefits from being dendro so her burst isnt useless in spread or Nilou bloom. Also shes a 4 star unlike Kokomi whos a limited 5 star.

Yao Yao has a peculiar special ICD where she doesn't have a hit rule, but has a time rule of once per 1.5-2.5s ish(?) app limit. What makes it weird is it's shared with the Skill, Burst, and Passive, so no matter how many radishes she throws out, the app is constant.

It's such a breath of fresh air to see a flexible character after the tremendously limiting Faruzan, or heck, the entire 4* Sumeru squad for that matter, and oddly enough it happens to be a Liyue character, those feeble scholars sure talk big, but don't bite much.

I feel like the entirety of Sumeru has been focussing on nicht supports. Gorou, for example, would technically fit into the same category. It's kind of surprising they seemingly dedicated an entire region to it, but it makes sense that the era would at one point come where they add them. They can't make every character universal, and having some that are good in the special teams they're dedicated to makes sense. Lorewise, having Sumeru, the region of wisdom and scholars, who usually specialise in one field, be the region of nonflexible characters does make a bit of sense as well.

Faruzan and Sara is kinda inconvenient as a niche supports compared to Gorou. To Sara, who wants to waste time having to CA first? Or Faruzan who has energy problem, and also has to CA to earn that energy. Meanwhile Gorou just pop E and Q then leaves, even the Q follows the character.

I quite like double dendro double electro with Yaoyao and Nahida. Dendro resonance gives an extra 100EM and you don't have to finagle with trying to swirl electro before dendro removes it.

Why they pulled her from the roster and sat on her till now was probably a dendro reaction thing. But she was created when 4 stars were still solid 🪨. So I think it's less they created a good 4 star now and more is a relic of a more prosperous 4 star era.

yaoyao was actually ine of the first character i got in this game. and ive used her multiple times when i got cyno. shes like the best off field dendro applyer other than nahida. i know mc is good for applying dendro but the mc requires his burst for it unlike yaoyao. (plus i can run tenacity on her and further buff my team)

Also super good for my Sara, Yae, Nahida team. So far I’ve been compensating with a Jean who is good but not great. Yae is one of the few who has an awkward use of on field time so playing fetch with Sara is actually useful for her. Also my ER is decent enough where my Sara is bursting consistently and Yae is a bit behind but honestly I feel you get more AoE dmg out of this comp compared to Fischl in place of Sara simply cause Yae can utilize my C6 Saras almost 100% buff uptime
